replacing rotors

i'm looking to replace the front rotors of my 97 eclipse. anyone here already done this? just couriors as what to expect. after i take of the wheel and the caliper, what do i need to do to get the rotor off? is there any bolts or screws? or does it just come off?

remove the calipers and brake pads and it should slide off. Although on some models it is also held by 2 screws that you will have to remove in order to take them off :smokin:

You have to remove the caliper mounting bracket as well.
Your lucky that you dont have a 1G, they are always a bitch to get off, always rusted on.

Prybars work wonders. Its like ducttape, only for deattaching things.

True that, My caliper mounting bolts were so rusted on that even my air gun would not get it off.... After about 5 tries at it with the air wrench it finally budged. Just spray it with some thread lock after reinstalling it and it wont get rusted on like that :smokin:

My rotor cracked in two before it came off. Love the Powerstop rotor Axis pad combo for my ride. Anyone else tried this setup? I have come down hard from 100mph with little fade

I hope you dont get any fade from one hard stop.
