The question is who really cares!!
Go to the track & find out what it will do, most people will be suprised what their car will run. Or should I say dissapointed, Saying it's a lot cheaper than doing it.
Sorry but i'm feeling like a bit of a smart a** right know.

Aren't racing 'till summer? Good.....that'll give you plenty of time to swap out your heads & intake (the Chevy Vortec heads and intake are quite popular and cost effective.....but remember that they need to be used together). A decent exhaust needs to come next, like either Edelbrock's TES or Hooker headers, backed by a quality mandrel bent 2 1/2" exhaust (Torque Tech and Dynomax both make quality pipes). Insert the muffler of your choice (I like Flowmaster 2 chamber "cans" myself).
Add some gearing (3.73's or 4.10's) and you'll destroy your current rear rubber! LOL
Add some decent rubber....and you might just send that Mustang to the glue factory!
Feel free to e-mail me if you've got any questions
Steve.

A monte with 350 H.P should run in the high 13's to low 14's (depending on your tires.) Is the GT stock? I have seen them run in the 14.2-14.8 range stock.

Can you elaborate a bit more on the motor you've currently got in the Monte?
Somthing didn't sound right 'till I double checked.....there WAS no 350ci or 350hp motor for the Monte available in '78. The original powerplant (assuming it's a V-8) is the LG3 305 2bbl.....145hp @ 3800rpm.
So......what 'cha currently got under the hood???

I thoght that sounded kinda wierd. Not too many engines from 78 made 350 HP
'78 The birth of the first turbo buick. It was a piece

Agree 100%
While it's possable someone swapped in either a 350hp crate motor or a home build 'tween the fenders of that Monte (gotta love how easy motor swaps are in the G-body :smokin: ).......
......it's ALSO just as likely that someone put a 4bbl intake and chrome valve covers on the stock LG3.
'stang-man...we need to know exactly what 'cha got under the hood.
