Are you referring to the tb mod where you disconnect the coolant line going to it? If you are, all they do is bypass the coolant line going into the tb, so that it does not flow into it any more. All the coolant does is keep the tb from freezing in the winter. However, this mod does not really do much, as the air entering through the throttle body is not heated very much at all because of the coolant. So no noticable gains come from it from what I have read. If you live in a warm climate, then you can go ahead and do it if you wish, since you wont need it. But if you live in a colder area, I would advise against it, at least until the winter is over.

Read this: http://www.b15sentra.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=52370&highlight=throttle+body+mod . It tells all about it and why you might or might not wish to do it.

ah, never read about that
I agree with you, it seems like you would get negligible gains and you run a risk if it ever gets really cold.
