car sluggish to start and stalls when accelorating

My 85 fiero SE 2m4 4banger, yesterday I could get in the car turn the keys bam started perfectly ......this morning i get up turn the key and the engine starts turning and turning and turning nothing.......for the past say like 3 days this engine light comes on goes off comes on and i assumed it was cuase my gas gause is broken I think its just a loose wire.....But also when on freeways and stuff and I'm accelerating...itll kinda jerk the car will kinda go duh duh vrrrrreeeenn........the spark plugs are new, the fuel pump is new....any ideas on what it could be??? and also how to fix it would be nice to lol thanks :banghead:

Hey you could check and see if the cadalitic converter is all plugged up. I had the same problem with my jeep that i had. Have someone or yourself take it our and just hollow it out. If thats the problem.

I agree as my 86GT did the same thing once. Ran fine and then as I was driving it I hit a pot hole and it just died. Couldn't get it to start again and stay running for more than a split second or so. We tried everything and then someone said that they thought it might be a clogged cat. Sure enough, swapped it with another good used one and away she went again.

Mine does what yours is doing, apart from the stalls when acclerating part but that's only because the shifter cable is broken and I can't drive it. :( One day when it's hard to start stop cranking and take the air cleaner cover off and tell me if it totally REEKS of gas. I think you and I have the same problem...
