can i put the rb26dett engine into a r34 gt-t skyline? has this swap been done before? if so where can u post any links?
How much would this swap cost in USD?
would i need to put the awd tranny into the gt-t or is the 5spd transmission strong enough?

5 speed tranny is good. you need the motor, wiring harness, ecu.
not sure, but the rb25's mounts might bolt up to the rb26. the rb25 5 speed is what the tuner community uses to use the rb26 in a rwd application. its what im going with.

im not up on the skyline models, you have the rb25det right now correct?
if yes, then it is completely possible. [and not over-complicated]
if you havent done a motor swap before, id leave it to someone who has, or get as much info on it as possible. i could tell you how, but i dont have experience with the skyline as a car, so unlike the others on the board, i wouldnt want to provide inaccurate information.
its pretty straightforward. the intercoolers would have to be upgraded, as the rb26 is twin turbo, you would need the complete wiring harness, the ecu, and the motor [duh]. its pretty much out with the old, in with the new, and some wire splicing. if your not comfortable tearing your car apart, leave it to a pro.
the tranny you have now [if it is a rb25det] is what you want to stick with, as the rb26dett has an all wheel drive tranny, which wont work unless you convert to awd. [not cheap, not easy]

as far as cost, there are alot of variables but figure at least a couple, if not 5-6 thousand US dollars.

depends mostly on the cost of the parts sourced.
i would say no less than 2 thousand [real low] to as much as 6 [higher end]

yeah, i woud want to point you in the wrong direction, because all i know is the motors, not the cars. [damn US regulations]

Why not just buy the GT-R? They come with the RB26DETT engine already, right? Might cost a bit more, but you won't have to deal with any swap hassles that might come up.... anyway, good luck with the project!
