i live in minnesota.. there is snow in the winter, is it a good idea to get a cai? i've heard of those valves that install in the intake to prevent water. maybe the valve may work i dunno, lol. 2000 gs btw

the air bypass valve only works when the fllter is submerged under water. as far as living in locations with snow, have no idea. im from cali, so snow is only in certain high areas. maybe someone else would no more about this, but if u want my opinion, i don't see why u can''t get a cai.

do you by any chance know the actual gains that an aem cold air has?

this depends on the car, but its around 3-6hp. i have an article where they test the aem vs. an akimoto rai on a 92-95 honda civic si and the cai gain 3 hp. they didn't even show the results for the rai probably because its results was to pathetic.

I live in ohio, it snows here too, I put on an aem cia last october with no problems thru the winter. Just don't let the filter get submerged and u'll be ok.
