Help, guys... which one is a better for the money and performance (with no mods) if you had a choice???
I have been waiting for the 350 to drop in price; Love the car in all aspect of it... but I like awd too.... that's the dilemma.....!
thanks.

Meh- get the 350Z unless you live outside the US of A- the Evo VIII for the US market is just a re-skinned Evo V with fancy seats- while the 350Z is the real deal- all around class, performance and perfect handling and balance

hard comparo it comes down to personal taste. your trying to compare a sleek two-seater with two wheel-drive and a v6 to a shoebox four-door with awd and a turbocharged I4. I'd take the Z but thats just me.

The EVO out performs the 350Z in almost every aspects.
Have you check out the G35 coupe? Very nice car. I'd take one over the 350Z and EVO any day.

g35 coupe is a basically a 2+2 Z with a longer wheel base and weighs a bit more but is still a great performer......just a little to fancy for my taste.

yeah he's right about the girls :naughty:
but evo-8 kills it in all aspects of speed and handling
there is no car out under $40,000 that outperforms the ev0-8
and the sti, they were designed for rally handling and just so happen to outperform the c5 corvette in all aspects exept in top speed.
i'm going for the evo-8 :smokin: :smokin: :smokin:

I'm going to have to go with the EVO on this one. 350Z sweet ass looking ride for sure, but flat out performance you get much more out of the Mitsu. I don't care if it has 4 doors, 2 doors, or 50 doors...if it outperforms it outperforms. Just look at what it has done in the WRC. It could even be argued that the EVO is replacing the skyline as "king of the hill"
By the way did any of you notice Lotus is planning to release the Elise to the US. Sweet!!

Well the question is, do you like to drive in straight lines or curvey ones?
I vote evo

The only worry i have is that it is ALOT of power out of a 2.0L running at insane boost. Makes you question the reliability of the engine.

true...it is harder to maintain a turbo engine than a N/A engine,
But I think Mitshubishi kept the 4G63 engine in there for a reason :)

I think the Mitsu is quicker, but the Nissan is more worth for me, because it is such a beautiful car.

I've spent about a 20 min test drive on both cars and here's my brief assesment:
350Z - A true spirited sports car in every aspect of the tradition: two seater, "token" rear seats, rwd, low center of gravity, quick and fast and great handling. But yet there is something missing about this car, for me. I, for one, am not thrilled by its looks. It has all the power for the average driver and priced very affordably. I was never very pleased with the clutch and shifter feel. There is a slight "springly" feel on the clutch pedal , almost like a motorcycle clutch handle feels as you slip it out. In other words, the clutch pedal doesn't seem to have a constant pressure across the pedal and it loosens very slightly towards the end, as the clutch engages. Now, please let it be known that this is not a criticism; it's just that I've driven other cars with a better feel. Otherwise a great package and a very affordable car for its performance.
Evo 8 - Along with the STi, the quintisessial rally car. The power rushes on like a spirited turbo engine would do. I have always prefered normally aspirated engines but have own turbo cars before, so I am bipartial about this comparison of engines. While some might prefer the sports coupe of the Z, others might prefer the convenience of 4 doors with the Evo. But the thing is, I suspect the majority of buyers of the Evo even cares about the 4 doors it has. The Evo is all about power and feel. And distinctive looks. Downright ugly to most, neutral to others, but a sleek machine to a small group of devotees. I am fast becoming a groupie to the third group. The Evo just feels right. Its suspension is not as harsh as most writers make it out to be. My only gripe is that I’d prefer the Evo to be fitter with all weather tires instead of the 32 degrees only Advans.
If anyone has $30k to spare on a new car there are plenty of choices to choose from. But my $30k would go to the Evo, without doubt.
