Any tranny shop should be able to get a core and rebuild, or you could pull your own at a bone yard.
Just look into what you are looking for, I think it is called something like: 460LE or the like.

Actually 4L60E, but close enough. And I wouldnt get a used tranny because you dont know the history on it. I would just get mine rebuilt... Pull it out yourself and take it to a shop and it will be even cheaper. Or you can buy a what do you call it "Refurbished" one and turn in yours as a core charge like he said above. Either way, I hope you got some $$$ saved up. =)

What type of tranny do you need in the first place?? An auto or a six speed (borg-warner T56).
Second, why do you need a new tranny? Did yours break or are you upgrading??
If you're looking for an automatic, AND, you plan on doing some performance work to you car, forget buying a 4L60E - get a rebuilt 700R4 auto tranny that will handle 500+ horsepower. There's good rebuilt units selling on eBay now for between $400-$800 bucks.
If you've got $1,800+ dollars and a core in good condition, you can have your 4L60E rebuilt to withstand 10 second ET's. GM high tech performance mag had a thing on some guys down south who rebuilt these babies like a brick.
How much you looking to spend by the way?? My 4L60E from my '95 Z28 has 120,000 Kms (70,000 Miles). Its ok but its gotten "dumber" over the last couple years, overdrive has a bit of a probem in top gear at 70 KPH (feel a bit of a vibration), and its not as quick at engaging gears - but it still handles the HP. I plan on getting a 700R4 in the summer (to handle my stroker rebuild!). The car is going into storage this week - if you pick up the tab for my $850 rebuilt 700R4 then my used 4L60E is yours!
But why wouldn't you just go out and get a 700R4 yourself??
