I have a 1994 300gt base model and my mom had a 1991 VR4. she just spun a main bearing and we just ordered her a whole new engine and turbos. i was wondering if i could take her engine and rip it down. then put the turbo manifolds and turbos on mine. i know i have to change some other stuff around such as the intake and intercooler, but will it work? please help me with this. thanks alot guys....

Its a lot harder than you think. first of all you have the base model which i believe is a sohc, so you wouldnt be able to simply put her engine in yours because of different motor mounts, etc. Also, you were saying you wanted to put her turbo stuff on yours...well that wouldnt work out either, because the non turbos ran a higher compression ratio and stuff like that and if you put that on with the turbos you would fry the pistons. At least this is what i believe to be true. Yogs will clarify more probably.

Yes, its posible for you to take her turbo stuff and put it on your car. Im in the processor of doing it to a friends car. You will need the:exhaust manifolds, turbos, o2 housings, precats, downpipe, oil pan, water pump(you should prabably get this new), oil lines, coolant lines, a TT front motor mount, injectors, injector resistor pack, and an after market fuel controler. Im probably missing a few parts, but check out www.3si.org for more info.
When you get done you will want to run at waistgate boost levels(6psi) because any higher is very dangerous on 11:1 compression. Seeing as how you dont have a knock sensor you have no way of knowing if you are knocking. The good side of that is you will spoll your turbos right around idle speeds.
