What is a spoon engine

can someone tell me what a spoon engine is? I've heard the term but have never seen one or had the time to learn what one is.

a spoon engine is a honda engine, whether itll be a b16a,b16b,b18c, or f20c, that is balance and blueprinted by the company spoon which is famous in the japanese race scene. it also depends spoon has race engines also but i dont think they sell those. the spoon race engine is packed with the whole catalogue of spoon products and can be rev up to like 11,000 rpm or something like that. it doesn't make as much horsepower or torque like a turbocharge honda motor though. i would rather have a high-revving honda motor than having a turbo that shouldn't even be on a honda.

Yo whats wrong with N/A i rather have a allmotor then a turbo. just cause spoon has a big mark up cause people will pay (eg me opps wish i knew bout rotas) doesn't mean they suck i could build a motor better then spoons for less but then its not a spoon so its about bragging rights there. just don't be hatin N/A.

Wow I will take a spoon motor over a turbo honda. Spoon makes the most reliable endurance motors. Why do you think they always win the endurance races? And yes. Don't ever knock all motor. I've read about this one team of like four 92-95 civic hatches and 3 of them are all motor and one is turbo. Coincidence? No. The all motor civics run 10's while the turbo civic is still stuck in the 11's. An all motor car will get you off the line quickly while a turbo, you're waiting for it to spool and which I've seen turbo's really only help in the top end department. N/a is more relaible, especially the spoon motors. And turbo's.... well you gotta worry about oil, bearings, and lines and so much other things while N/A, basic tune ups keep ya goin.

Hondaracer, there are probably two all motor civics in the 10's one of them being Bisi, and that build is soooo far from any stock motor it isn't even funny, and there are way more in the tens boosting.
The FACT is boost cost less to go faster. And for all the "JDM" purest who cry about turbo not being "JDM" what the fuck? Have you even seen any of the japanese companies, they offer hundreds of products for boost, complete rebuild kits, turbo kits, and on, and on, and on...
