My bro just recently bought a Spec-V and he has his aftermarket cd player from his last car and he wants it put in. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the previous radio OUT. There are no screws or radio holder holes. I'm not sure where the clips are so I don't want to accidently break the plastic.

No such thing as a 2001 Spec
As far as the headunit goes there are a couple steps:
1) open the center compartment on the dash
2) grab the pocket and pull straight towards the rear of the car, it will pop out of it's snaps. You have to disconnect the hazard switch, and then you can set it on the seat or something
3) pull up the trim around the shifter, it just pops straight up, remove the plug for the cigarette lighter and set it aside (if you can't get the knob off the shifter you can just rotate the trim around so it's out of the way)
4) I'm not sure if you take out the screws now, or if you pull off the next trim piece....but if you see 2 screws on the dash that were uncovered by removing that trim piece then take them out, if not go to step 5
5) grab the next lowest trim piece, it should wrap around the sides of the center, you just pull it aft and it pops out
6) remove 4 of the screws you can see, these are the top 2 that were hidden by the center compartment, and the lowest 2. There are also 2 screws that are right below the temp controls, those don't need to be removed to take out the cd player
7) the rest should be pretty simple, you take the whole assembly that is now loose and pull it out of the dash, then you can unscrew the 4 screws that are holding the headunit to that assembly

to add too that you might run into some problems with the factory amp. if you want to use it (it might not sound right) power up the power antenna wire with the remote output of the deck. and just hook up the speakers as you would with any other instal. or if you want to bypass the amp you will have to do a little more work. you will have to find the inputs from the radio, same colors that match up with the harness, and hook them up to the outputs of the amp. in order to find out which ones are the right outputs you will have to pop the speakers with a batery. use a AA, AAA, c, or d battery and run through the wires untill one speaker pops and hook that up to the coresponding input. the rears will be easy because they are in the rear deck and you can tell which ones they are. i dont recomend doing this if you dont know what you are doing. i dont know the colors off hand because i dont use them anymore in my car. soo i hope that didnt confuse you and good luck

heh no it didnt confuse me too much. Im just wondering, on this part of the whole deassembly...
1) open the center compartment on the dash
2) grab the pocket and pull straight towards the rear of the car, it will pop out of it's snaps. You have to disconnect the hazard switch, and then you can set it on the seat or something
which "center compartment" do you mean? the one on top? because besides that, the only other compartment is the little spacer compartment underneath the cd player.

yes you are right, the one on top, open it and pull straight out. then you can just set it on your dash without unplugging it if you want. then remove the trim around the shifter by pulling up then the trim around the pocket pull straight out too. reach on the sides where it meats the dash on the bottom and pull. then there are 6 screws to take out. 2 on top, 2 in the middle, and 2 on the bottom. then the radio and the pocket will come out in one bracket. un screw the radio and screw your new on in. you will need a kit and a harness so you dont have to cut anywires. you should be able to get theis at any chain store or high end dealer for car audio. then the kit you get will screw to the heater control cover from the back. to reinstall do i reverse order but put the top and bottom screws in then the middle ones with the two trim peices. simple as that
hope it works out

ok everything worked out. I got the whole thing out and I can install from there. The wire harness I had but it needs to be hard wired onto it so its a pain. I tried it out to the best of my knowledge (color coded with testing) except I noticed theres no ground spot. I can fix this problem but theres another problem that arose, my bro says that his turn signals don't come on now. I didnt install the radio but rather I just put the factory one back on to retest the system. Any suggestions on the turn signals? BTW you've been a super help.

its a comon problem i see at work all the time with new guys. you fogot to plug the hazard switch back in. not a big deal. the ground you will have to go to the chasis for. or it will ground through the bracket.
