I have on FOB for my 1998 Avalon XLS and I given one that matched. Same match and manufacture.

I need someone to show me how to program the FOB to synchronize with each other and the Avalon's remote system

Does anyone know how to program a remote FOB
for a 1995 Toyota Avalon?

Toyota has so many different type of alarms that do not have interchangeable remotes that they even put out a TSB on the subject.

If you can then identify the system, you may be able to find the TSB with the correct instructions.

I got weary looking for this, so once I found it, I thought it would be good to share it with you.

I tried this out on my 1998 Avalon XLS, and it worked great. Those batteries don't last forever, and when you have to replace one, you shouln't have to pay a lot of money to get the remotes reprogrammed, too.

Here is some background information:
FCC ID:HYQ1512Y
CAN: 1551 102578
RSS-210
DENSO

1. Open driver's door.
2. Insert and remove key from ignition.
3. Lock and unlock power door locks 5 times.
4. Close driver's door and reopen it.
5. Lock and unlock power door locks 5 times.
6. Insert key and turn it on and off 2 times without cranking the engine, then pull the key out.
The locks should lock and unlock automatically, one time.
7. Press both the lock and unlock buttons at the same time.
8. Press the lock button once.
The locks should lock and unlock automatically, one time.

If the locks lock and unlock twice, it didn't work. Repeat steps 7 and 8.
If you wait too long between steps, you need to start over.
If you are programming more than one remote, just repeat steps 7 and 8 immediately after you finish steps 7 and 8 with the first remote. This way, they both obtain the same code.

When I performed these steps, at first it seemed to work, then it seemed like something was wrong with the programming on one of the remotes because it wasn't unlocking the doors or the trunk. I'm not sure what I did next, but after a minute or so, it worked as well as the first one. I can't explain why. Maybe I had to shut the driver's door first, but the instructions did not say this.

That procedure will work as written on my 2001, but step #6 should be only one time, not two. One time sets the ECU to "add mode" which is what you want to do if you're just making a new fob work.
