well i finaly gave into temptation, hiroboys latest creation force me to go buy the tamiya imprezza sti wrx kit, i had spent sooo long convincing myself not to buy it.now i have a sudden lack of self control.

the kit is realy cool, kinda like a aoshima kit with the solid axels but i like it, makes using aftermarket wheels easier.

colours are going to be blue and silver i think, any suggestions for a wheel colour.

I think my girlfrind might take pics of me into the local model shops and ask them not to serve me if she finds out. lol

When I buy new kits now, I just get home first and slip the box into the middle of the pile. The wife doesn't notice...

me too, my mom is bugging me with all the kits accumulated. My bedroom is not for sleep or work, it is for model kits, they occupy more space than me.

My parents like the fact that I keep all my "crap" in my room and out of thier way, my girlfriend gets pissed off when she comes into my bedroom and comes out smelling like paint, she also gets ticked because "you spend more time playing with your cars than you do with me"... :grinno: women eh? :banghead:

LoL

I find it funny you say that about only one kit!!!
I have some problem getting more than one kit(usually 2-3)without any 'unwanted' notice...

However the worst part are complaints from my girlfriend abou the smell of our hobby!Paints/glues/putty and my room has almost all the time that great smell of curing paint or glue...
Add to that the amount of dust due to the pileeeeees of magazines(TOO MANY CAR MAGAZINES IN MY ROOM) and sanded putty or any other dust-generating modelling process and now that is something I call PROBLEM!!!

What about that guys???

P.S:Ofcourse I paint the car bodies outside but then detailing or sometimes the almost cured body stays inside...

I absolutly hate the Imprezza. But, now, i think i may have to build a model version. Its kinda like, we build our Revell Civic's with the wings and body kits, but if we really owned a 1:1 Civic we would never add a huge wing, or atleast in my case thats true.

well this time its only one model buts its to add it to the 10 unbuilt model kits, not to mention the other 30 model kits i have bought this year. i am even storing some at friends houses, lol.
she made me agree to not buy anymore kits untill i had built three completely, hahahhahaha, well i have about 5 models in various stages of progress.
gonna build the imprezza quickly, gonna spray the first coat today, will be posting in the in progress bit today.

its ok hiroboy, i do forgive you :iceslolan

guys guys, one word of advice with the paint smell in the room etc.

Freebreze with the spring freshness. :iceslolan

and as for the models well my gf rather me play with my toys then with other women. Besides you guys are lucky wait till you see my house. My office room is fill with toys and I have a toy room just for my toys. Plus I am into rc cars and trains as well. Think of each time i go to the hobby store. Not only do I come out with just 1/24 models but supplies and 1/10 bodies and trains as well.

Plus I have a hot wheel collections. I guess is true what Toys r us say.

I will never grown up :icon16:

Hi there... I gues I'm one of the lucky one's too. My wife supports my "habit". In fact she buys kits for me. The other day I was having a hard time deciding which kit to buy, so I bought nothing. She came home from work that Friday with all three Tamiya kits I was considering. She occasionally picks from my unbuilt kits, one she would like to see built and suggests colors.

This year for my birthday that I got to choose a real car. She got loan approval in writing from the bank and handed me the letter from the bank, showing the loan amount, and said go pick out something. Look at my screen name. Can you tell what I got???

I was married once before, she didn't like my models!!!!!!!!! :evillol:

There's just soemthing about buying models. It's almost like getting a collection going. Some people like collecting cards, me, I like collecting model kits. The endless possibilities that exist with each new unbuilt model is just pure extacy, LOL. You start dreaming of how you'll paint it, what scratch built items you can make for it, how you can make it more custom and detailed. The rush you get when you're close to finishing a part and it almost looks like the end result. And then the pure joy when it's finally finished. You just can't beat that!

No available sisiters.... sorry.

I do have pic's but with regular film. I haven't entered the digital world yet but I'm currenlty shopping for a dig camera. My car is like the one on the ford website, the Azure Blue Mach1. When I get the camera I'll take some pics of the real car and some of my models. I have digital pictures of one of my models that a friend took for me but don't know how to post them.

I don't see why all you guys try to hide it from your lady. When I bring home a kit, it's my money I spent so she can deal with it. Fortunately, she doesn't care as long as I don't have paint all on my fingers and I don't excitedly show her the progress every day ("But don't you see how awesome that looks? Wait, check this out...!!") One time she even built a model while I was working on one of mine. "I've had enough building for one lifetime," she says if you ask her about it. But her opinion of the hobby went from "cute" to "that's rather impressive." I think a lot of people underestimate the skill and effort that goes into kits; but that's a whole other thread.

:loser: :screwy: ...wuts up with that ^^^^^?

Sounds like some of your have great wifes/girlfriends, maybe they hate it when you bring home a kit because... YOU ALREADY OWN TO MANY, i just bought 2 kits over the net and my g/f gave me sh*t because i own 2 already... an F&F supra that i had to redo the paint, so its pretty much finished, and an impala, yet when i go to her house, and her living room floor is filled with pictures, construction paper, and she shows me "all the cool pens, stickers and do hickies" she just bought at walmart (shes into scrap booking) I dont say anything!

Yeah, I hear that. I have 3 unfinished kits piled up and spread out all over, plus I jsut oredered 2 from HLJ the touge 86, and veilside kombat 3-2, and bought the amt F&F supra for a kitbash with the 8-6, and when my gf comes over she gets pissy (you need to quit building models and buy me a damn house so we can get married) so models are putting off the 2 most expensives ill do, eventually.
