Engine swap

My 92 Civic CX is a basic 1.5L SOHC with 30 thou shaved off the head. I thought that this would be a nice subtle mod especially for everyday back and forth drivin'. But I just recently purchased a 94 tegy and got another identical model as a parts car, with the engine still in pretty good condition. I was just wonderin' if it was the B18B model that fits directly into the civic engine bay, without the use of additional mounts, if it is could be let me know, I'm pretty sure it is but I need a second opinion before attempting to lift the sucker! thanks

Yeah, the B series will swap into your CX with little to no problems. I do believe you have to swap the driver side mount to that of your civics, but that is nothing compared to needing a $300 mount kit.

Yes that swap will be very easy probably the easiet swap possible. You will be happy with that extra torque too.

Hey I also have a question about engine swaps....

I have a 95 (EK1) civic with a D16Y4 single cam non Vtec engine. Basically I was just wondering how easily a B16 or a B18 would drop in??? and also would it be worth it

It should drop right into both civics, any B-series should. I have a B18B1 in my 92 civic, so Civiking, I know you'll be fine there. The LS mounts should work fine, and it should drop right in. There is one mount you either keep or don't need, I'd have to go home and pop my hood and start lookin to remember, but it is an easy swap, bery easy. Bolots right in, and will give you a lot more kick than what you got. You'll be happy with the results. And to D16Y4civic, any b-series should drop right into your EK (96-00, 92-95 is EG/EJ) Civic as well. A mount kit shouldn't be nessary, though getting new mounts never hurt anyone. Inspect the stock mounts with the motor when you get it, if any are cracked or worn and need replacing do so then. It will same you money from having to drop the motor and put on new mounts later. If you need new stock mounts, and the cost is close to that of say, hasport mounts, you can just go ahead and get those if you want to. But again, the stock mounts should work, unless they are cracked or worn and need replacing.
