Does anyone have any pictures of hatchbacks with 4 bucket seats instead of the rear bench?
I'm thinking about doing this to my car, but I would like to see how it looks before I start cutting and welding.

Or if no one has ever seen a hatchie like that, do you think it'd be a cool idea?

i think it would look sweet, i woul put the seats real far back for some nice leg room, then have people drive me around while i sit back in some luxury in the back of my peice (wont be a peice after i get enough for a H22A1 swap, then it will just look like a peice)

you'd have to find some shorter bucket seats cause underneath the rear seat is where the gas tank is.. so you really dont wanna cut anything outta there.

well I Was going to remove the gas tank and set it aside before doing any cutting or welding, period (arch welder and fuel tank/lines don't mix too well)...
as far as the seats themselves, I was going to remove the seat rails all together, and weld on some custom brackets fitted to some welded on mounting positions where the rear bench used to be.
I still think the roof is short enough that the seats are going to need to be really short, or reclined slightly.... I'll have to do a lot of measuring first though.

I don't think it would work unless you found some sort of different bucket seat.. Civic buckets usually sit right on the floor almost, while the rear seats sit on ledge thats about a foot off the floor.

theres a car around here like that, its a 5th gen hatch tho, Siz, if u ever see a green 5th gen hatch with purpleish flames and the back window says 2nd Glance (i believe he's part of 2nd glance), check out his interior, he's the one with the 4 racing seats,

Yeah, I considered that... and I don't believe I'd be having the seats sit any farther back on the ledge than the rear seats already do.
But like I said, I'm just going to have to do a lot of measurements before hand to see if it's even the kind of thing I might want to try.

Ya, I know that one for sure. Coupe eh? I remember that car from 5 years ago when it wasn't very cool. :)

Also consider Phat that he has serious cash into that car.. Did you see his dash? Its all custom fiberglass with the guage pod in the middle. Its a show car, people never ride in the back seats.

I don't even know if it would be safe in an accident..

true. i forgot about it bein a showcar, I dont see him drive around much, just whenever theres a show around here, i dont think it would be too safe in an accident tho, if they didnt weld it right or attach it right u'd be screwed
