i chose the r34 skyline, cause it has a lot room, and its proven to be a fast car around the track, and the straights.

That 2Fast 2furious Skyline sucks! it can't beat a Tommy Kaira one!and it's too high, that jump it had would have torn up the suspension and the side skirts. the movie was too fake!!!!!

Oh and Funk, i only wanted one car from every GOOD Jap maker

WRX STi is a lot closer to Skyline's performance than the "WRX" is. :smokin:

Supra- because it is one sexy looking mofo, has the excellent 2JZGTE, RWD and some of the best seats in the business

The Skyline is a shoebox on wheels with an ingenious AWD system, impressive-enough RB26DETT and a funky little Data screen

The RX7 is beauty- but with the gamble of reliability and torque

The S2000 is too girly next to the other cars, as is the WRX- which is also mediocre compared to the EVO

and the GTO is far too fat

I'd choose "some American car" because that means everything including the Saleen S7, Mosler MT900S, Dodge Viper, etc. So some American car is the obvious choice.

As far as I'm aware, the only Ford part on the car is the engine block. So we'll see how that holds up. Remember, this is a first try for Saleen and really America altogether to make a super car. I think he's done an excellent job so far. As soon as I saw the S7 in real life it was my favorite car of all time. Pictures do this car no justice at all, it must be seen in real life.

and the GTO is far too fatU don't understand the areodynamic design do u? Yes, the supra is much more areodynamic, but the Skyline's body has it to where after the wind hits, it's easy for it to slide of, and it doesn't have to keep on moving along a bunch of curves. Abd what the hell do u mean "impressive-enough!?" that RB is the King of engines. u tell me if any of these stock NON-Aftermarket cars *coughs Saleen* can beat it in any form of auto competition with the exception of rally. Um no! the in 1/4 the stock Skyline contends with 400HP cars! In the track none of these can keep up...in turns or straights. in top speeds the RB is againe king. There's no way a I-6 single turbo Supra can keep up and if ur talking about the short block ha!look at the spec below. and rest are 4cyl single or also 6 cyl single turbos. the only other twin is the 3000Gt, but that bitch is way too heavy on the track. And the Supra's RWD is a handicap to the Skyline's AWD. yes the Supra is okay, but can't beat the skyline. The RX-7 has one damn good engine. it can get well into the upper 10,000 RPMsso, it's gonne a damn long time for that thing to top out. but it's flaw is it's HP. it'll take a while for it to get there. and it's gear ratios aren't helping. (stock Gear ratios.)

Quarter schmorter- I am sorry but I see few things more irrelevant in car design than that damn 1/4 mile- and the RB26 has NOTHING else to do with handling- hanling comes from ATESSA, the suspension, the Chassis and Steering- not the RB.

Also due to it's shorter stroke the RB lacks a serious amount of Torque in comparision to the 2JZ- and you seem to call the Supra a V6 single turbo- when- like the RB26DETT- is a Twin Turbo LINEAR 6- clearly you know little about the Supra- so you should keep quiet until you actually take time to read up on the damn thing.....The point is the RB lacks Torque to back up it's bhp, hence I cannot take it seriously as I do the 2JZGTE

I personally find- for my style of driving RWD suits me better- AWD- is far too correct (If you will) for my liking- and while most of the time the Skyline GTR is RWD- I son't like the fact that the Front wheels are even driven- AWD is a novice's tool.......

Since I'm a RWD guy, their goes my vote for the AWD cars. I just think a RWD can be funner than a awd.(although i may reconsider when winter hits hehe), i've never been a huge Supra fan, but I do appreciate their accomplishments. The S2000 is probably the nimblist car on the list. The only hesitation I have against it is its lack of horsepower over the other cars. I would probably end up taking a rwd american car that could outperform any of these stock imports.(i'm not trying to be biased, just honest). The new Viper shouldn't have a problem outsting these, along with the Z06, the Cobra might have lots of problems with the R34, but much after that it shouldn't.
I also don't like the reliability of turbo's, which just about all of these cars have taken in account for except the S2000, n/a = Not Asmany problems hehe, or Not Asmuch horsepower.

Hold up! u think a viper can beat a Skyline on the track!? it can beat the R34 on the strip and top-speed, but not on the track. none of these cars can beat the skyline on the track. the Z06 is slow as hell on the track. it takes way too long to get up to speed. yeah it has a high top-speed but that's it, compared to any AWD car, any RWD car hadles like crap. AWDives are made turn at highier speeds.

And, kid. N/A means naturally Asperated. and turbos don't need as much HP. the turbos account for acceleration. Yes there's a bunch a problems with turbos, but hey, they're worth it.

Yes I know what n/a means, and their more reliable without a turbo, but turbos allow for more power; hence me saying "or Not Asmuch power"

Where do you think a Skyliner is going to beat a Viper on the track? let alone beat and out accelerate a Z06? and how does a Z06 take way too long to get up to speed.....have you ever heard of turbo lag? RWD cars absolutly do not handle like crap, where are you getting these things? AWD are not made to turn at higher speeds, thats a matter of grip. A Z06 is not slow on the track, are you kidding me. A Z06 will out accelerate a Skyliner at any speed, exept for maybe off the line.

First of all a skyliner lacks nearly 80hp of the Z06, and it considerably outweights the Z06, so where are you getting that its faster? It will outgrip a skyliner on a dry surface any day. A skyliner is to front heavy to be taking turns as well as a Z06 unless your in a drifting competition.

Your trying to compare a Skyliner to cars that are in a higher class, thats just silly.

11-04-2003, 06:11 PM
i wouldnt say the skylines really that heavy for an awd car with 6 cylinders, r34's curb weight is about 3395, thats lighter than a mustang cobra r, and about as heavy as an e46 m3. weight distribution of the r34 skyline is about 57% front, and 43 % rear. its awd drive sytem attesa usually drives the rear wheels, and shifts up to 50% of its torque to the front wheels when necessary, it drives like a rear wheel drive car, but with a little bit of front wheel traction. with attesa, and four wheel steering, it lessens understeer, and oversteer. the systems not perfect, but it helps out a lot.

Yeah I do agree that for the "skyline" (sorry about saying skyliner) isn't to heavy for having an awd drivetrain, but its still 250lbs on the plus side of the vette. And the Viper i'm refering to is the SRT-10, which is significantly better than the older viper. A have no doubt a Skyline could take an old viper on the track.
I do realize that the Skyline is very very sophisticated. The new R34 comes with many upgrades over the older R33, including twin ceramic intercooled turbochargers, to reduce turbo lag. Altessa featues the new E-TS system allowing the torque to split. In addition to the new intelligent electronic limited-slip, the HICAS rear wheel steering system features a new electronic yaw-rate Control system.

Granted all the new improvments make the R34 the best skyline yet. I would like to see how this R35 im hearing about does. But i still don't think it can beat the Z06.

well that depends on the track doesnt it? anyways i would expect the z06 to beat the r34 skyline on most tracks with its obvious hp advantage, and assuming they both corner about as good. maybe the skylines more stable with attesa, so i guess it might be able to corner a little faster, or pull out harder. i dont know about the r35, doesnt seem like its gonna be better than the r34, but we ll see.

Turbo lag is easly dealt with. Okay, u have the turbos set to kick in at lets say 3,000 RPMs and it really kicks in at 4,000. Well set it to kick in at 2,000 and it will kick in at 3,000. It's all good.:naughty:

And no matter what, a AWD car can make a turn faster than a RWD car. How much faster does depend on grip. And it will be hard as hell to drift with a skyline. U'll need to give it a "Sex Change" (changing it from one drivetrain to another.) in order to do that the way you want to. Yes the Skyline is a big boy when it comes to weight, but hey, so is the Viper. And yes it does a have a lot of weight on the front. The monsterous front end is how it got the nick name "Beast.":evillol:

A Turbo car WILL hit it's turbo mark on the 1/4 several times, depending on the ratios, and that will give it enough boost to pass a Z06. Without a doubt the Z06 is a great car, but look at the stats. the Skyline contends with 400HP cars in the 1/4 mile when it's STOCK! For a RWD the 'Vette is pretty damn good, but comparing the Z06 to the Skyline is not the ludicrous that ur saying it is.:screwy: The Skyline is upper class and not the "Jap Crap" that u think it is. It's King of the road in Japan, New Zealand, and the track. Dude, just live with it.

Your right, turbo lag is dealth with, but guess what, its still their.

And actually you can split the torque of the skyline's awd drivetrain all to the back wheels, which you should know, so you can drift with it.
http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/frame.mv?file=car.mv&num=395 Maybe you should learn more about your car.

With a turbo you can boost any car to its max and pass any car as long as you have enough boost.

Skyline runs 1/4mi. in 13.1's or so, thats half a sec off a 405hp vette, big difference. Camaro SS run low 13's for them having low 300's hp to. Lots of 300hp cars can run low 13 seconds. A skyline's gearing is shorter than most cars when its toping out in the mid 150's, so it should have more acceleration than other low 300hp cars resulting in better 1/4mi. times.

And quit putting words in my mouth, i never said a skyline is "Jap Crap", i actually like skyline's. I like a lot of imports as a matter of fact. I don't judge a car depending on where it was made. It may be the king of the Road in Japan, but it doesn't extend far from their.
