It sounds like you've got a great car for the job. You want reliability and good mileage. Power is not as important as route selection and technique.
Choose stop signs instead of stop lights.
Choose a route that lets you take advantage of right-on-red.
Use parking lots and other alternate routes to avoid traffic and lights.
Wear your seatbelt.
Study delivery drivers with lots of experience and copy their techniques and routes.
Use turn signals.
Jump out of the car and run inside. Run back to the car with the pies.
No matter how stupid your customers are, don't attack them.
Be very careful how you behave if the customer is a minor.
LEARN WHO TIPS and give them good service!
Don't lose your cool.
This information was gathered at great cost and many lives by someone who has been fired from more pizza jobs than you'll ever have.

PS-Oh yeah, jump out of the way if someone's about to hit you...even if you know it's the other guy's fault...you'll lose time from work, risk an injury, and you don't even know if he's got insurance.
