they list what you need and how to do it,
now with your truck you basically need to replace the whole drivetrain
i'm talking everything
motor(obviously), transmission and rear-end
the 7.5 won't take it
you could put in an 8.8 or a 9 inch
this swap is really cool, but your gonna need time and money!

hey, thanks, that site is great! im going to start this project after we get another car because my ranger is the only car that my mom can drive (automatic) so i have to wait till she gets a car for herself. but its never to early to do some research. i was wondering if you think i could get all of this done, and have about 300hp and 300ft lbs for under like 5700$? thanks.

yeah, also check out www.therangerstation.com , and scroll down to engine swaps...lots of info...you will have to change your rear end..probaly to a 8.8 or 9 inch, but I'm not sure about the tranny..if you have a five speed, it might be ok..
this site also has time and price estimates, and were to get needed parts, like motor mounts
here's the site

Well I must say that The Ranger Station can help. Ijust installed a 5.0 in our Explorer with an AOD auto tranny the best move I have done in a will after spending bags of money on the 4.0 not smart. What I did was get a complete 5.0 car than strip the engine tranny, ecm, and wiring harness out of the car. You will also have to change the 2.3 motor mounts get a set from a 3.0 or 4.0 the mount on the engine i made out of 1/4" steel plate. Real easy as it is flat just cut and drill. You will also need headers in order to clear everything. Count on 75 to 100 hours for the change if fuel injected about 15 hours is in the wiring. The 7.5 has got to go you will need some thing a little stronger. I have an 8.8 with 3.55 gears and run 265/75/R15 the speedo is only out by less than 1%. Ours is a 4x4 as well. It has become a real blast to drive. My wife really loves the way it eats cameros up. Good luk
