Radar Detector Wars

Yet again I just want some input rather than "Buy the valentine 1 or the Escort 8500". Those 2 radars are really good. Yet alot of us are on a small budget. I would like to hear from you guys what radars you have that have worked for you. Ive been considering the :

Cobra 9860
or
Whistler 1790

Anyone ever had one of these? I currently have a whistler 1660. It is pretty and gets the job done kinda, yet i need something better.

I've got a Cobra that I bought in 2001. Its the one with the digital read out and voice alert. Its still going strong, although the voice alert acts up sometimes now, but I expected that to happen sooner or later. So I say go with the cobra. :2cents:

Dunno. I used to use a Whistler something or other on snow trips. My advice is whatever you get, rip it out of the socket as soon as it goes off so they dont catch you. Stuff the whole thing in the glovebox or under the seat too.
