Need help identifying a car

In this weeks' Autocar their is an interview with former F1 driver and current F1 commentator Martin Brundle. He is pictured in the pit lane of the Oulton Park pitlane where he was filming a video coming out this christmas. And i'll certainly be buying it cos he's standing in front of a McLaren and an Enzo (plus alot of other supercars, Zonda, Eb110 etc.). The Mclaren appears to be a Magnesium silver car with a high downforce kit and wheres the number plate M99 PES. Any ideas as to chassis number? I bet the McLaren eats the Enzo for breakfast (apart from under braking of course)!

I have a feeling I know which car it is, but unfortunately, not necessarily the chassis number. Any chance you can tell the interior color from the photograph?
Incidentally, no car can "eat the Enzo for breakfast" - give it the credit it deserves. :)

Its not easy to tell but it looks light grey. The car is just to far away in the photo for me to be sure.
I know the McLaren won't come home 10 seconds ahead of the Enzo, but i do think it will beat it. I hope so anyway cos i hate how arrogant Ferrari have been about the car, especially their inabilty to provide a car to the press for fully independant testing. Perhaps they're scared.........

I'm not at home, so I had to go find the photo. I think it could be this car:
http://www.mclarenf1.de/gallerie/bild1.jpg
Just an assumption of course... If it's the brighter silver that he's referring to, then there are two of those out there. One is the 'R66 MCL' car which we have already discussed at length.

No that's not it. It's the lighter Magnesium silver and it dosn't have the dodgy headlights like R66 MCL has.

The car in the foreground of the first photo appears to have a body coloured wing, which the car Martin Brundle poses with dosn't. It looks to be unpainted carbon fibre which would suggest the car in the background and 4th photo. Any idea of the chassis number or owner of this car?
Peloton25

I don't believe the car in the foreground of this photo truly has a body-colored rear wing. I think the bare carbon is just catching the reflection from the overhead lighting.

If the car in Autocar is that color, then it could be either of these cars. One is obviously the 'R66 MCL' car - possibly the one with it's back to us since we can't see the lights. I will say that I don't know if the funky lights on that car were originally fitted, or refit items.
No idea on the chassis number or owner of either car. That's your region of the world TcarR. Remember, I only handle North America. ;)

nope for owner and chassis number, tvrfreak may know tho. I'm not too sure thats a body colored wing, i think it may be the light reflecting or the reflection of the roof of the building that was taken in

I hate Magnesium silver for the sole reason that it makes cars difficult to identify. Now with 065 out of the showroom i can't think of one identifyable silver car.
BTW: Peloton, do you know the chassis number of the car you posted?

No unfortunately. :(
I am also only aware of two other photos of that particular car. One is of the interior - it has the "F1 GT-style" pleated leather in a light tan. The other is a shot of the steering wheel and gauges - it has the non-standard steering wheel - similar to Dan Kennedy's if you can find a photo, and a few other F1s. I believe its the "removable wheel" actually.
Hope that helps - mini magic or I can post those additional photos later if they don't sound immediately recognizable.

i'm at school right now ( :( ) but when i get back i'll post the steering wheel pic. There is also another pic of one of these 2 cars, it is an interior pic and it shows that a piece of carbon fiber in the footwell of the right passenger seat has a signature on it ( I assume murrays). It was posted on here a while back. I can't remember saving it tho, altho i'll look when i get home.
Another interesting thing. This may be sheer coincidence but on the last pic i posted the fake plate thing on the car says "049 PF". I looked up that chassis # last night and it is mercedes brilliant silver. This car is def. not magnesium silver (darker) which leaves, if memory serves, 2 silvers, mercedes brilliant silver and special silver. Is it possible that the plates the cars wear have something to do with the chassis # so workers there know which cars are which (when there is more than 1 silver car in the workshop area i'm sure it gets hard to tell, especially if they are being moved around. Just a thought....

the 049 PF has also been seen on 56xpgt, in the silverstone paddock, the photo's on sc.net
it's a numberplate mclaren uses to cover up original's for the sake of privacy. it has no meaning or whatsoever.
the car is probably dark silver. mercedes brilliant silver is a shade a little lighter than regular or magnesium silver. special silver i don't know, could well be a bit lighter as well

The R66 MCL from Monaco, the car on the French highway, and the 4th photo in MM's series are all the same car, right?
I assume so because the reverse light is in the same position on each car, they have the same bodywork alterations (right down to the scoop on the wing support), and each car has tinted windows.

Yes drew - I have always assumed that they were the same as well. It's hard to be completely certain, but the points that you make are all the same ones I have noticed. I wish tvrfreak had snapped a front view photo on that silver car he saw at the factory - that would confirm it for sure. I also wish more pictures would surface from Monaco.

Have just noticed that (provided the pictures are of the same two cars) the car in the foreground in pic 1 has to be the car you see from the back in pics 3 and 4. The position of the reversing light gives it away. In the first photo the car in the background has it on the right whereas in the 3rd and 4th photos it is on the left, therefore the car in the foreground of pic 1 is likely to be the car featured in pics 3 and 4, no?

But i thought R66 MCL had different headlights and the car in photo 1 clearly has standard units.
EDIT: Hold on, i think i've screwed this up, where did the pic 1 and 2 come from? I'm now assuming they were not taking along with 3 and 4, correct?

The 1 and 2 pics are rather old - I don't recall exactly where they came from - possibly the McLaren Cars website. I think the car facing us would be 'R66 MCL' just with a different set of headlights, however that is pure speculation on my part. Remember, earlier I stated that I wasn't sure if it's goofy HID/rectangle headlights were originally fitted or were added at a later date.

The 049PF plate is a "trade plate". In the UK they are used by car dealers and manufacturers to allow them to drive untaxed cars on the road. A set of trade plates can be swapped between cars and are often used for test drives. I doubt in this case that they are being used to hide the true registration.

However, i thought the car with the trade plates was R66 MCL (monaco car) and the car i'm blathering on about has standard headlights. Any ideas as to the chassis number?

Do you want I send an email to photographer to know more on when and where ? It can be near Lyon.

There isn't a pic of the car in question on the forums. Read the first post again. Basically, i just found out today that the car has a red interior, which i thought might help us to work out the chassis number. So a quick recap of the car is as follows:
Silver, HDF Kit, Red and black interior, registered in Britain
