got a '91 stealth es this summer, DOHC engine, and it's blowing blue smoke out of the muffler, it's at 83,000 miles, and everyone i've talked to said the rings must be blown, so i wanted to know if i would be better off just replacing the engine with a TT, or replacing the rings...

if i don't replace the engine, what kind of turbos can i put on the DOHC engine?

any suggestions on what would be the cheapest and easiest route would be appreciated, thanks.

Acually you would be best replacing it with the same DOHC engine instead of the twin turbo for reliability reasons. Plus you would have to tell your insurance company (MUCH more money) That blue smoke or many other problems can happen from being hard on a tt engine. But if you got money and want speed, the TT it is. Youll have better top end but not off the line (no AWD)

1) A TT motor will not be less reliable. It will he a lot of work and Insurance won't cover it if you get in a wreck.

2) When do you see smoke? constant or atfer start and on accelleration?

It could be your valve guide seals and that is a less expencive fix.
