I am new to this forum but have been reading it for a while. I recently bought a 97 GTP and think it is one of the most impressive cars I have drivin. The only problem I have is the frekin' tranny. I have read up and come to realize that it is inevidably going to break. my question is is thier an aftermarket tranny or a rebuild kit that can support a modified engine. The tranny is already slipping in first gear and it only has 46000 miles. the only mods I have done are the TB screen removal and adjusted the boost controller.

INTENSE makes a good tranny - very expensive though

Cya Racing makes a good tranny - more reasonably priced

Thrasher aslo sells a stronger trans- little more then Cya but less then INtense

http://www.c-ya-racing.com/

http://www.thrashercharged.com/

All of these are very reliable companies, just depends on price range.

And ya, the tranies on these cars suck. this will be my 4th trans (3rd if I dont count the one that lasted 4 days)

thanx I will check out those links. If I do just get one rebuilt do you think a transmission cooler and a shift kit will help out some.
