1995 4runner, head gasket

Hi, Does anyone have any information about the 1995 toyota 4runner's problem with it's head gasket. I had to replace the engine on my 95 4runner a year and a half ago, it cost me about $5000 dollars total.
I was told by the Toyota corp. That my warrantee had run out and that i was not entitled to a refund. This was a problem, i hear from different people that the 95 4runner had.
Any help would be appreciated.
