my car has been hard to start for a few months but one night i was driving and it was stuttering really bad whenever i would accelerate..the next time i tried to start it, it wouldnt start..i tried putting in a battery that i knew for sure was working, and when i tried to start it again, all that happened was the beeping sound from the door being open came on, and my tachometer went all the way from 0 completely to the other side and is now stuck there....also after about a minute the beeping sound got more and more low pitch until it completely died out..what the hell is wrong with my car????? i assume the reason it wont start is the alternator, starter, or both, but why the tach thing and why the stuttering?? i have a '94 b18b motor in the car, so i was thinking something with the wiring, but doubtful.. anyone else have any ideas??

If you put a new battery in it shoulda turned on, Try cleaning your terminals on the battery cable ALSO replace or check the wire that goes to your fuse box from the + side of the battery. That wire once corroded on me and would not power my car that well, i just replaced it and worked fine. If your car's system has low voltage, it will not give power to your tach...so its normal for it to do that. If your car is turned on a running, check to see if your alternator is pushing 13.5 volts or higher, if not, it could be a bad alternator or corroded wire. The wire I am talking about is the singe wire that hooks up to the nipple bolt of the alternator, make sure you disconnect the battery before you take that wire off because its hot, try to dip it in baking soda and water to clean the corrosion.

my standard model did something very similar to me one day, luckily it was a block from my house. the simptoms seemed as if i had stalled out on accident but then when i tried to turn it back on it only made a single clicking sound. i couldnt figure out what it was until i took off my distributor cap and i had completely fried my distributor.
