I have a 95 GS, should I ;work on it- basic boltons new camshafts stuff to that effect.Or buy a 95 GS-t with the money that i would fix up the gs with, and keep it semi stock for a while...until I get more $$$.I think Ive narrowed it down to that, unless liability on the GSX is comparable to the Gst. Help!

you didnt even need to ask that question  everyone on this forum will say... gs-t or gsx.. if your going to go to make something fast why not start with something that is fast in the first place?

i have state farm insurance and i have been in a roll over had one ticket that was bullcrap "not mantaining straight line of traffic" and i am only 19 and my insurance on my tsi 2wd is 195 a month and that is for full coverage. i asked my insurance when i bought my car if the tsi and tsi awd where the same price and they told me it was.... oh yeah i also asked them how much it would be on a esi and they said 160.... so no big diff for me i feel bad for some of you guys that have to get a n/t cuz of insurance that sucks!!

That helps, you see im young like 16 young, but i know my cars and i know my limits so dont bad talk me. Insurance is the biggest scam in the history of man, even bigger than the "enlargement pills" . I would really like to have the AWD because im from TN and backroads rule around here. Anyway ive heard from a not so valuable source, but can rollcages affect your insurance?

How many miles can you expect the 4g63 to last? Engine, tranny, turbo, and ive heard of some sort of timing mechanism goes out on em real bad. My friend has a gst and a $25 part cost him the engine, however hes getting it rebuilt, bored, and upgraded turbo. woo !

yeah that is the downside of some of these cars.... as for mine a month after i bought it i had to replace the clutch, tranny, all the seals, timing belt, and some other belts...... sucked ass, but hey cant complain now it runs awesome....... oh yeah i had about 90,000 miles on it when all this stuff happend.

You hit that right on the number.. INSUANCE IS THE BIGGEST SCAM EVER.. I pay $492 amonth full coverage with only 2 lane violation tickets. And thats the CHEAPEST...well recently going back to progressive its $340 a month now. But for the last 2 damn years I was paying $492 a month, NO BS.....all saying its the car, turbo, convertibe, age and single. I gave alot of diffrent adresses and still no luck. But its gradually comming down...! Glad I graduated and make good money or id still be in my neon..! *ouch* i had to say it..

OMG 340/month? jeeez, i got 6 (soon to be 7 if i don't find my traffic school papers) points and full coverage is like @200/month. does your ins. bill come with vasoline?

$340 a month..thats the cheapest its been in 4 years... Arizona dont play when it comes to insurance.. I think its the biggest scam ever.. I just got in 1 week ago. Was paying $492 like I stated before. If it was 200 a month id have a 10 second car by now....And thats the truth..

Im about to cry because i want a gsx so freakin bad. but i think im gonna have to keep to ol' 420a , unless i can come across some 2 or 3 grand ... real quick. do mitsu dealerships carry models dating back to 1995 ? i know some lots dont , or should i steer clear of the mitsu places and go to a non mitsu car lot? overpricing is my concern.

sweet. i just hope my mom approves of the turbo thing, my dads all for it but shes kindof .... well i dont know what she is. My grandad asked me jokingly if it went over 45 mph. I smiled suspiciously and said "maybe". HAH . As for the police auctions ill have to check that out sometime. Thanks!

I used to also pay 4000 a year, or 400 a month. In my case just letting all my tickets drop off got me down to about a grand. Insurance can be tough, and its one of the reasons I bought the GSX instead of upgrading my 2nd gen Rx7 to a 3rd ;) AWD turbo was the main factor though. Being 16, any car is going to cost big bucks. My 900 dollar 73 nova was 2500 a year when I got my lisicense. My friends old ass 1000 dollar camry was even more. Unreal. So there may not be much of a difference between the turbo and non turbo cars, since the statistics say no matter what one you buy, at your age, there is a huge probabilty that you'll crash and burn. The best thing to do is simply go to your insurance agent (or online website if they give instant quotes) and compare the rates for all 3 cars. People do this all the time, so its not like you're making some absurd special request ;) Then at least you can feel good that you made the most educated decision possible, even it it means you had to stick with the non turbo ;) No shame in that. We all started somewhere, even 73 Novas :grinno:

This is true. lol. my first car was a 61 Willy's Utility Wagon. Was a great 4 wheel drive, but i didnt have the money to do what i wanted with it so i had to upgrade. now i have a new AWD.

my first ride was a 84 toyota pickup. got 100% on all my dmv driving/writen test so i got an ins. break. some lady smashed head-on into me 2 weeks later while i was stopped, waiting to make a left. she was pregnant and her 3 yr old was distracting her as he was jumping un-belted in the passenger seat. that was the last time i saw any kind of ins break, welcome to CA driving!! i even turned 25 and they didn't care!!
