would anyone know how to deactivate the immobiliser in a 02 honda accord? ive recently got a after market alarm system for it with a remote start option, but when got it fitted in the fitter told me coz of my engine immoboliser the car wont start with out the siren going off. also told me its because of the emc or engine managentment system!!!
would any1 give me some sort of idea on how to go about solving this problem plz..

cheapest way is to place your spare key near ignition lock, other one is to replace your ECU with ECU that doesn't have immobiliser.
i need to warn you; immobiliser makes difficult to steal your car once you get rid of it your car can be started with screwdriver.

You need to remove decorative cover of steering column and put your spare key some there near ignition lock.
Immobiliser is not alarm its just prevents engine start if microchip isn't close proximity.
If your alarm still going off after putting key near ignition, you need take you car to alarm installer because he did some thing wrong. It shouldn't go off since you got autostart with alarm.

Hey guys you have it all wrong. You could screw even more things up sticking a key up near the cylinder. See, the ECU can only read one key at a time. It can lock up and leave you stranded because the 2 codes are messing things up. May not happen today but someday it will believe me. I recomend this part# from DEI. http://www.directed.com/guides/manuals/ig/accessories/N555H_4-02.pdf You do not need to sacrifice a key so theives will not have access to it.
Also, that so called expert screwed up the install on the alarm. He did not go to the disarm wire. He needs to open up the driver's door to get at the door module and find a white wire. This wire needs to see a (-) pulse to disarm the factory alarm.

i didn't know DEI makes bypass, thanks for info.
BTW, all keys that come with car have same code, so nothing gonna be messed up when on of keys is placed near ignition cylinder.

oright mate u seem to know more info about hondas then any1 i know.. i was goin to say with leaving the honda key in the car would make no diffrence as i have tried that and when armed and when u attempt to start with the cra even with the key both the immobiliser and the aftermarket alarm goes off. so that would not really work.
i would certinaly check out this website for this part, i just like to say thanx for spendin ur time givin me info..
also would it help if i tel u what kindo alarm i have coz i think u are right that he has not connected the wire to disarm factorty alarm system so i would have a wee chat with him. the alarm is called wintec LTR53A with is a 2 way communication with colour screen.
plz do get back when u get a chance bro..

Reread what I said. Yes, every key has it's own code but when you have both keys next to the transponder which is reading BOTH of them at the same time it causes problems.
I just installed a remote starter on a '04 Hemi Ram today and tried my theory. One out of 5 trys it would not start. Took the spare key away and everything was fine.
Sorry, never heard of wintec LTR53A. Must be an off brand or something. :icon16:

have you ever try to have two keys near ingition cylinder on HONDA cars?
there are bunch of people at V6P.net who have valet key at ignition to have remote starter and never had any problems.
wintec LTR53A probably some Europian brand, according to NAVZ profile he lives in Glaslow, Scotland.

Well I sort of did. DEI has an old part number 555U that I started using back in the early 90's. It's a simple box that you install a spare key inside that has been coded to the car. Then you have an antenna wire that goes up to the transponder from that box. When you remote start, it sends the key's code to the ignition. Well, I started getting some no-start conditions when the person tried to use their key. The car would try to re-read the signal as they were turning the key in the igition while it was remotely started. Sometimes, the computer didn't like it and would stall the car. Could not restart it for 10min. or longer. Some cars would even have the theft light stay on as they drove away.
Since I average probably 5 Honda's a month for remote starts, I can't afford to have comebacks. Since I do it differently now, I haven't had a problem.

i'm not aganst of using DEI bypass module, i actualy advise to use it and not to sacrifice anti-theft protection by placing spare key at ignition cylinder.

I was sayin to hide the key with a chip in it and use a key without a chip to drive the car. That way only one signal would be read by the cylinder. You can have a cheap keyblank without a chip cut to use even though the car didnt have one. I used to work for a Dodge dealership and i have a friend up there who did this with his truck.

hi there mate,
just getting back to you regarding a few info about installing the alarm.. i took that alarm out of my other accord and want to install in my civic coupe now.. i have gone over all the wires and you were right, that idiot installer did cut more than half of the main wires and really fuck most of the install up.
i have gopt all the triggers sorted out and know how they function, just got a bit of prob with the actual start kill relay and the wires that go to the ignition side of the install.
as you are a pro in installing remote starts and also also coz u do this on a day to day basis i would like your help on the wire colours i need to look for in the civic and also how to hook up the ignition wires safely.
one last thing u did mention about a transponder for the remote start and i would need one of thoes now... would you be able to sort me out..??
plz mail me on [email protected] with your responce mate.. lookin forward from hearing from you..

Get the 555H or 555U Bypass units. It is by far the best way to bypass the immobilizer only when the remote start is starting the car and they will leave the anti theft system intact when not in use.
The honda immobilizer system has an RFID chip in the head of the key. when the car is started it sends out a signal from a ring around the cylinder which inducts current in the RFID which reply's with it's code and is picked up by the antenna ring around the cylinder and sent to the ECU. If the code matches the car will be allowed to start. If the code does not match or is no present the ECU will disable the fuel pump and the starter will just keep cranking.
The 555H bypass module taps into the wires between the antenna ring and the ECU. The device then intercepts the code from one of the cars keys during the programming phase and memorizes it. When the starter wants to start the car the device just resends the code to the ECU from memory.
The 555U bypass module is a universal model that uses one of the spare keys for the car hidden in the dash. It involves coiling a wire around the head of the key which then leaves the box and goes up the steering column and wraps once around the lock cylinder then goes back to the box with the key and connects to the other end of the wire that is looped around the key via a relay. When the starter wants to start the car it flips the relay connecting the wire into a continuous loop around the key and lock cylinder. The car sends out the radio frequency requesting the key code which is picked up by the wire wraped around the lock cylinder and travels down the wire to the key. The key transmits is code which is picked up by the wire and sent up the steering column where the cars ring antenna recieves the code and allows the car to start. Using the relay to break the loop allows the anti-theft system to continue to function when not using the starter.
Putting a key up near the lock cylinder does work but I don't recommend it. As mentioned earlier if another of the cars keys is used is will get conflicting codes as well using this method disables the anti-theft system all the time.
Hope this helped
