hi i'm looking into getting a crx but i'm a little concerned with the safety factor of these cars...i've heard from alot of people that they crumple like tin cans and that the seatbelts are connected to the doors instead of the car which isnt as strong plus the no airbag thing...i was just wondering that since alot of you guys make your crx's fast what do you do, if anything to make it safer....at the same time i dont wanna put a rollcage or anything like that in it and look like some wannabe racer kid ya know??...but if there's anything like aftermarket seatbelts or anything like that??..thanks in advance

i got in a pretty nasty accident with my rex, and it held up damm good, same with my buddy, but 2 girls i know were both mangled bad.
in something at a higher speed, kiss your ass goodbye in a rex. try roll cages ect. safety can be upgraded just like everything else

well its 2200 lb car avoid the cell phone soccer moms in the suv
a roll cage and big brakes do wonders and if you drive anything like me im more concerned with not being road pizza than the thoughts of others have a true cage welded in not some show crap and your better off than most volvo's

put some racing seats in there... you can pick up a couple for about $400 somewhere online they are no name brand but then you get a 3 or 4 point harness and you are not going to slam your haed off the steering wheel when you get in an accident

How much would a good roll cage cost?

it depends what you are getting what kind of metal and how much of a roll cage there is teh full roll cage and a half of a roll cage...i think around 600+ but im not sure i have not looked into it enough just an estimate but the number might be a lil :screwy:

Thanks. 600 doesn't sound too bad. I don't think I'd need a full 8-point, so maybe it wouldn't be that much. I don't need a roll cage at all unless I start getting enough power to justify one. Also, this may sound random, but are the graphics messed up on anyone else's computer? On mine, none of the avatars and other graphics are working. Is it just my computer, or is something wrong with AF?

Weird. I don't know what's wrong with mine. Guess I'll have to ask Igor.
