Restoration help needed

Hi, I have a 1965 C-10. I've been wanted to restore it for a while but never got around to it. Its a short, stepside bed. It's going to get a bored 327 with a 350 cam. I do have a donor 65 C-10 long bed
I was wondering, how should I get the paint off and repair rust? Sanding would be an option for removing paint. But it would take way too long. Any other quicker ways that you guys would do? I know i would use patch panels to repair rust. What thickness steel should I use? The rust is right near the mirrors on the door.
Chassis, is there any restoration needed to old chassis's? Mine seems strong, no holes or anything. So does the rear axle and IFS.
Springs and shocks-Would it be wise to get all new springs and shocks? the shocks look like early 90's models.
And what is a good website to find parts that are missing?
Thanks a lot to anyone who can answer these
