They're just stickers - it was only temporary. :)
I know I'd love to be whisked away at my wedding in the world's fastest road car. I doubt my bride would care for it much though. ;)

The thing I wouldn't like is that the driver would be sitting in the middle...between the bride and groom. :naughty: :nono:
A good car if you're gonna drive away yourself. Not so good with a hired chauffeur. :disappoin
This is how it might end up ...

If I knew that my wife wouldn't care about leaving the wedding in a McLaren F1, I don't think I'd marry her in the first place.....

It's supposed to be her special day, not my special day. :D ;)
I haven't met very many women that have even heard of a McLaren F1, much less any that would care if you told them all about it. I'll settle for a hot chick who has her own interests as long as she loves me.

Another thought...hire a female chauffeur but the groom gets to sit in the middle and drive. What the hell, it's HIS wedding too! Now that could be a nice wedding present (for the groom, at least).
Then we have the following situation:
 :smokin:
I think this is how steering with the throttle came about!!!! :grinno:

Now, I must admit, there are few things that really puzzle me as I typically have accessible enough means to get quick answers to any possible question regarding the McLaren that I many not know. However, the above picture is of some confusion to me. If indeed the car is as the article states, XP5, I was never aware that McLaren Cars Ltd ever painted XP5 other than its original dark metallic green. I am quite aware that the car has been repainted, but always to original paint color. Also note that the "XP-5" is missing from the lower flank of the car (the rocker panel). The car appears to me to be clearly black. I would even go so far as to say, non-metallic black. The stickers on the side are of no concern to me, it is the paint color that is peculiar. Unless, indeed, the car is not XP5, as is my suspicion.
Any thoughts. Lets get the McLaren Think Tank Machine started up.

mini_magic and Peloton said that the "XP5" detail near the right rear wheel has been gone for a while.
if uyou go to this relaticely famous site:
http://www.centralcoastweb.com/nsxb/media/pics/mclaren/mclaren.html
...you will find that XP5 is featured with XPLM. i direct your attention to this particular photo:
http://www.centralcoastweb.com/nsxb/media/pics/mclaren/img210.JPG
...as you can see the "XP5" detail has been removed.
i do agree with you that XP5 doesnt look BRG anymore. if i blind myself with my conputer screen and turn it to max brightness and max contrast, XP5 looks kinda like a dark blue. in some other pictures of the above mentioned site, you can still faintly see some green, but it is not as promonent as it was in the early pictures of it.

It's XP5. The lettering has been removed from the rocker panels for some time now.

My question seems incredibly juvenile now that I know the answer. In fact, it could have been altogether avoided had I been a bit more astute with the pictures that I have myself. Those included, thank you Stratoraptor. Thanks for the correction.

Neither the color nor the low-light English weather has changed!

Dark Green is a notoriously difficult colour to define in photographs.
There have been many famous mistaken Dark Green cars that have been called Dark Blue.
The D Type Jaguars were typically Dark Green yet often look Blue in pictures. Yes I do know about the Scotish eccure eccosse racing cars whaich were a sort of steely sky blue.
Anothe was the prototype Lola T70 MkIIIb this has so offten been misrepresented as being Dark Blue when in fact it was actually Dark Green
