Beefing up a ka??

Is it possable to bore and sleve a ka to withstand high boost pressures or are the cylinder walls too thin? Does anyone make good sleves for KA motors?

i'm pretty sure the KA doesn't have sleeves, because it is an iron block. sleeves are generally used in aluminum blocks.

Yea no sleeves.
I would only bore it out .5-1mm no more.
Aftermarket pistons and rods meant for boost with ARP studs/bolts and you're set for some decent boost.
What you should be worrying about is tuning the damn thing right so it wont self destruct on yo azzz not how much it can handle.

Decent boost hu? define decent, 7psi, 10psi, 12psi. Anyway I have never herd of the pistons or rods going out on a ka24 (although I am sure that it has happend) but I have herd of alot of blocks bursting, so that is what I am looking to reinforce first.

i've never heard of a KA block bursting??
anyway, the KA can handle plenty of boost with new internals. i wouldn't think it would be worth it to bore the cylinders any bigger.
plenty of boost-

yupp you don't really need to sleeve out our blocks. they are known to handle quit alot off boost. over 20psi. and at 20psi on our cars is making a shit load of power. most turbo KA's running only 14psi is already putting down somehting near 350whp.

Yeah from what i have heard sleaves are made for aluminum blocks...
There would be no since in bore and stroking it because, one the walls would be to thin and two the sleeves would take up the little bit you could bore out to begin with.
I would look into someother inernal mods like pistons and rods. The block is strong enough but the pistons are pretty weak on a Ka24e.
I know because i completely destroyed a piston with only a little 50 shot.
so i pretty much could guess on what would happen under booast above 14psi.
Good luck on your endever.
