something i am considering as a future mod(i.e. when i am out of college) is building a 4g63/4g64 hybrid. i think this, with the proper support, would make my car the fastest street legal car in my little town of 10,000. and i hate running the same set up as every one else. so we will see what happens in the future. one can always dream.

What turbo2nr said, swap it for a 1st gen gs-t. But it would cost a alot more then you think.... just sell and buy a 1st gen gsx! :iceslolan

well i would love to sell and get a 1st gen. but i just had to buy a new car because the clutch went out on the eclipse. any sites that i might go to to check out or search key words i was also wanting to do this as kind of a "learn how something works project." so i will prbably be coming back here often with questions. ( hopefully you wont get to sick of me ;) )

Good thing you guys told him to buy a 1G, he alreday had a freakin 1G :screwy:
You can swap a 2.0 into it, you'll need engine, motor mounts, wiring, tranny mabey, and all acossiated parts, if your going to do that might as well be a 2.0 Turbo engine.

I think 2.0 is the best way to go, but there is also 2.1, 2.3, and 2.4. All varations of hybrids between the 4g64 or similar 2.4 liter, and the 2.0. Its all been done before, but its not cheap. Used 4g63s can be had for 500 bucks (~800 with DOHC/turb cam head) and will take 500 whp stock. Your choice.

I know I am going to show how much of a novice I am with this question but what does 4g63 – 64 stand for? And thank you guys for all the help you have been so far.

to the best of my knowledge they dont really stand for anything,it was just the different engine ID #'s they gave them. the 4g63 and 4g64 are the same block with different internals. hope that helps out.

Magnus motorsports already has done most of the 4g63 engine swaps you guys are talking about. They have a 2.4 6 bolt. And a 2.17 high rev motor, possible 8 to 9 grand red line (they don't say)
