Reliability?

I was wondering how reliable these are. I am looking at a 1992. I was wondering if they had any traits that all of them have (ie. the 2nd gen Ford Probe's Engines go after 130000km)

Any problems like that, any recals?

Thank you
Lance

Depends on the previous owner really... but aside from regular wear and tear (brakes... radiator... hoses...) 240s have typically seen 200-300k+ miles-- that's if you guys leave the KA (stock engine) in there or don't end up crashing in trees while "practicing" drifting :twak:

they are very reliable cars. the only major problem, is of course, the timing chain. it wears out relatively quickly and should be replaced around 100K miles. the good news is theres a new design out for it so when you replace the guides, they wont wear out as fast as the original ones.

yeah 240sx's are reliable, but it has a lot of minor problems. Such as the driver side power window does not work (mine isn't that bad, only has a lag time of 2 secs before it works). The rear defroster not functioning is common. The cigarette outlet/electrical outlet pops into the car easily (mine just popped in yesterday when I tried plugging in my cd-player car-kit) so you can't really use that all that well. The timing chain guide is poor, you will have to get that replaced. the body of the car isn't very solid metal, very easily bent. The headlights get foggy and dirty very easily, you will have to constantly clean them. And right now I can't think of anything else, but those are all minor problems that are easily fixed.
