KYB AGX - Good stuff

Just put a new suspension on my car - urethane bushings all around, whiteline springs, and KYB AGX struts.

All I gotta say is this setup is WAY WAY better than my old tokico + eibach combo. I cant figure out how I got along before without adjustables. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a suspension that performs as well as coilovers, but without all the expensive adjustment hardware. The rear struts have 8 settings and the fronts have just 4. The highest settings are too stiff for the street. I have the rears at 5 and the fronts at 2, and its still twice as stiff as the old suspension. I cant wait to test this stuff out at VIR (that is, if I can scrounge up enough $$ for decent wheels before then).

I had to shell out $1000 for the whole setup (bushings are expensive as hell :bloated: ). It would've been about 600 for just the struts and springs.

congrats. glad to see your enjoying ur new suspension. what car is this on? and can u post pics? ... also , do u plan on movin on to coilovers later? or u too happy to change it?

Oh my bad. Its on a 92 SE coupe. Im quite happy with these - right now the suspension totally outperforms my tires and differential so theres no need to upgrade.

Of course theres always the possibility of getting coilovers years from now and after I graduate and get a decent job - probably get a new car and make this one a tracker.

are the urethane bushings harsh on the chassis and your kidneys when driving on the street? did you install them or did you have a shop do it?

The bushings do make the ride a bit more jarring. They make the car feel a little more connected to the road - more input from the steering and chassis. Its worth it if you're hardcore into car control. However, I wouldnt suggest urethane bushings to someone unless they were going to take their car to a race track.

I forsee a lot of squeaks and rattles developing in the next few years as a result of the harshness.

Unfortunately right now my pics of the car are 200 miles away. I'll get them up soon.

And I got everything through PDM racing. They were pretty cool about it until I wired them the payment (@$1000 w/ shipping). Turns out two of the 8 sets i paid for were back ordered, when they finally restocked, the asked me to pay shipping AGAIN for the backordered sets. This is just wrong because the wire transfer was supposed to cover the entire bill, and here they are asking for more money. Though its just $15, I really dont want to pay them more when I shouldnt have to.

did you do the bushings yourself? how hard was that? i heard it can be kind of a bitch to do.
