Her vs Him vs It

The LH

This is simple. Do you see your car as a "her." A "him." Or an "it."

I through "him" in there to be politically correct. Don't get on my case!! :loser:

To be honest, I still haven't decided what my car is, even after two years...

The exhaust says he, the curves say she. The power says he, the comfort says she. I love it like a woman, but I remain in limbo :banghead:

i don't think any guy would want to get in another guy, not even some girls. :naughty:

but you can't shoot me in the foot for being politically correct!!! :banghead:

she

i don't see how my baby can be a ... he ... or an it ... She's too powerful and too mean to be anything else. Just like her driver.

Definitely a "she". It took the dealership almost three weeks to find me a silver TA. They tried to sell me every other color under the sun but I held out for silver. Finally, after contacting over twenty-five other locations, my original dealership found my silver TA... therefore I named my baby Silvia (silver ==> Silvia). It sounded kinda stupid at first but grew on me. Please tell me I'm not the only crazy one out there that names my cars! :screwy:

You're not, but I haven't decided on the perfect name for mine yet...

I dated this girl who had an '85 IROC Z28 Camaro. This thing was sweet; pretty much mint condition. We took our rides to car shows together... anyways (I'm rambling), she named her's "Cori". (Iroc spelled backwards). Clever, huh? :grinyes:

You'll come up with something eventually.

The LH

you HAVE to come up with a name for your car. there is very simple logic behind this as well.

here is the first example: you're at a car show. you're friend asks if you saw that silver firebird. well, I have a silver firebird, and so does blues. which one is he talking about. then you spend the next 10 minutes explaining. :dunno:

second example. my car's name is "veronica" and blues doesn't have a name. people will say "did you see veronica, that car was tight." :worshippy

the name of your car defines your car, and let's everyone know which car you are talking about.

i hope that made sense. i'm babbling! :swear:

If that was the case, I'd have said "the SS with the red Grand Sport stripe" and they'd know which one was mine... :sunglasse

i'm rethinking this "car is a she" thing. the only way you can get rid of your car is if you sell it.

with a girl, sometimes you can't get rid of them, and sometimes they go when you don't want them to.

my best friend (male of course) would bail me a out of jail in a heartbeat no matter what i did.

if i treat like an it, i can't go wrong there. so i guess i'll have to give it an "it" name.

Ah ha! See, you think about it a little more, and realize there's atributes that go both ways, it's a hard decision. :sunglasse

I still gotta go with "she". I associate women with cars because both are VERY expensive and require you to spend a lot of $$$. Currently, I am single (hint hint to the fine lookin' ladies out there) :naughty: , so I have the luxury of spending money on my car. My girl, Silvia.

in the defense of guys of guys with fast cars. we are not fast in bed nor do we make up the lack of size with our cars. my girlfriend will vouch with this 100%.

i have a fast car becaue it looks good, sounds good, and it's what I want.

i think it's the best looking car out there. but i guess everyone thinks that about their own car.

blues, you got a nice trans am dude, but you don't have ground effects kit. i also don't like who close the fog lamps are to the middle. i like them closer to the outside edges of the car. gives it a corvette feeling i suppose. i just think the nose looks funny.

i'll be getting pics up today. i promise!! ;)

Actually, it's just "Blue" (long story how I got that nickname). Anyways, thanks for the compliment but I have to disagree with the negative opinions made. The main reason why I haven't put a ground effects kit on at this point is because I'm trying to keep this car as stock as possible. I believe the car will hold a lot more value this way in the long run. Currently the only future mod I'm planning is the custom exhaust. Also, I think the fog lamps look awesome the way they are and the nose comment... are you talking about the hood scoops (RAM air hood)? I think it looks awesome! Of course like you said we all think our own cars are the best. I love all Firebirds and TransAms; I don't have any negative opinions about any year/design. I just hope the F-body makes a return someday...

The LH

when i say the "nose" i don't mean the ram air. it's just "pointy" in the front. i guess the ground effects and the fog lamps on a non T/A make the nose more round.

don't get me wrong, if i had the option of a T/A Silver Firebird, or just a Firebid, it would be a no brainer choose. i could live with the "pointy" nose :smokin:

i particularly don't like the intergrated spoiler on my firebird. but i don't want the T/A spoiler. so i'm not sure what i'm going to do. the best thing i've seen is the Porsche (sp?) where the spoiler actually is "hidden"

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=autozine.kyul.net/gallery/porsche/911_turbo_wing.jpg&imgrefurl=http://autozine.kyul.net/gallery/porsche/911_turbo.htm&h=133&w=180&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dporsche%2Bspoiler%26start%3D40%26svnu m%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26sa%3DN

that's the best I found. but i don't know. that's gonna cost some bucks. :2cents: would be cool though. :sunglasse

my neighbor has 6 garages of corvettes. he said if you want to do something to your car, without losing collector value, you can put on a supercharger. he said they are bolt on and wouldn't be a problem. he also said with that, you would then need to bring in more air, and have more air taken out. so you would need to invest in some exhaust systems.

I'm kinda lacking the money right now to put any mods on my ride (that's the other reason why I haven't done much at this point). I wanna try to save enough money this winter to get at least the custom exhaust job done next spring or summer. I have one more year to pay on the car, then I should have more $$$ to put into it. :naughty:

Damn... your neighbor must have some mad loot to own 6 Vettes! :iceslolan

i'd like to know where he get's his mad loot. the guy has a second house with some antique cars. he's got 4 there. each one of these houses is $300k+ easy. mine is $250k and my is a dwarf compared to his.

Well my pride and joy was a 56 GMC pick up.

was on great shape. Was so funny. when I washed her and kept her clean and shiney she would run like a scolded dawg.
When she got dirty she would drive and run like crap.

So I named her Miss Pris
