Quick Question About 1.6EL

Hi there, my father recently asked me to look into a decent 4 dr, 5 spd car thats good on gas for him to buy for a decent price. The 1.6EL caught my eye. I'm just wondering if there is any problematic years that should be avoided, known issues that a new buyer should know about, etc etc etc. Thanks a ton in advance!

My wife has a 97 1.6 EL and has never had any major problems with it, aside for the swaybar linkages (they wore out this year). No motor problems. no fuel issues, brakes wear as normal. A nice comfortble little car.

i believe my sway bar linkages are wore out also on my 99 el, still getting around to changing them, i think this is a common thing...
