I'm about to replace my exhuast system on my R33 V-Spec, which has an Apexi induction system and currently runing 1Bar of boost. I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice and either of the two systems I am considering, these happen to be the ....

Blitz Nur Spec R or Veilside Titanium

Which system is the best in terms of Power increase/performance, sound, realiability and are there any good or bad things I should be aware of before I made my decision?

Also could someone please advise me on what the maximum boost can be considering the engine is standard?

Any advice is much appreciated

Many thanks!

G.

Standard 1 bar is all I would go, play it safe. Actually I would only go .9 bar.

As for the exhaust, I would go the cheapest. There is really not a lot of info out there about exhaust comparisons, like other main stream cars.

Which ever is bigger, should move more air.

Sorry I cannot be of any more help. Razor or Moppie might be able to shed some light on that subject.

Hi. I used to run my stock turbos up to 1.12 bar churning out 375rwhp with stock everything else except the ecu which was retuned using the F Con. I ran it for about a year (including on the track) and it was okay. When I upgraded the turbos, I inspected the stock ones and they were in excellent condition.
As for exhaust, well, it is a black art I suppose. Am now using a Super Dragger...it's alright. Am not familiar about the 2 systems u mention so cannot comment.
A friend of mine is using the HKS Racing exhaust...damn loud and he had to retuned after installation...gained quite considearble numbers on the dyno!
The Amuse Titan system should also be considered..full titanium front to back...only about 4.5kg in weight in all!!! Sounds absolutely delicious. This is actually my next target for my car when finance permits!
Sorry. I am not really answering ur question but rather complicating your dilemma further.

get the biggest you can. Given you cant get a five inch but the biggest manufactured. You want to move as much exhaust as you can through the turbine. more flow=better spooling.

actually going to big will hurt spool up time and decrease power on mildly tuned cars. As a good example a mate had an R32 GTR. Bog standard except the exhaust which was a Trust power extreme 3 1/2". He made 168rwkw. Changed it over right there at the dyno to a 3" custom system and made 180rwkw. Nice increase for a system that was nearly $1,000 cheaper.

hey i think razor is right, my common sense tells me that bigger on a mild-tuned car will not do much. (and if its for other cars like proton wira, will do bad things. if you do not retune it.)
