just to update on my situation, well if anyone cares anyway :p im not getting that BB DET engine i was going to cause im not keeping my brothers 200sx. im still deciding whether to aim for an S14 or P10. i like the looks of the S14 a little better than the P10. either way i go, i will get a DET sometime in the later future, when i have money  . what are your guys thoughts? im kind of leaning back to a P10 cause i think ive gotten used to it quite well and know it more than any other car. cept the S14 is a FR car, which i like better than a FF car. give your comments on each car. plus this forum is much friendlier than the freshalloy.com s14 forum

Hmm S14 or P10 huh? Well while the S14 is a great car, it has FR which can be good and bad. FR is good for dry pavement, bad for wet/snow/ice. FF is a no brainer. All of the Silvias in the US have the KA24DE, a great engine for low end grunt, not so in the high RPMs. But if you're going to swap in an SR no biggie. The P10, well you're accustomed to it. Very stiff chassis, don't really know too much about the S14 though. But here's some food for thought. Parts for a 240SX are extremely expensive. My mom workes at a body shop owned by a Nissan dealer and they had an S14 240SX in there that rear ended a Ford Taurus. The only parts in needed was a hood, front bumper cover, core support, and radiator. All told the parts cost was 7500$. The lower lip for the front bumper was 650$.

This could go forever both ways. It's going to come down to what you want, not us; and it's your money, not ours. I like both cars personally.

ive decided to get another P10, just cant live without it. well its not really set in stone, but if i find a better deal for an S14 i will take it, but right now my mind has set for a manual P10.

I've also heard the aftermarket parts (good ones) for the S14 are pretty expensive. But you have way more options.

That can go both ways though too. S14 parts are available overseas in mass quantities, but then again, look at all the Primera parts over in Japan, there are a ton over there too. But I think as far as US support the G20 would edge out the S14 (although probably not by much, if at all). A local list member here in Az has a VERY nice turboed 240, it was actually one of the ones in Super Street, if you read that magazine (I don't), it still have the KA motor, with a turbo kit, and a bunch of nice suspension and chassis mods. I love that car, but he's also done a TON of the car too.

The one thing the P10 has outright over the S14 is originality.

I'd consider the S14 heavily because we already have P10's . . . and you'd have another great car (Nissan) with a completely different character and style . . .

If you didn't already have a P10 . . . different story . . .

Depending on where you live, you might want to look at insurance costs. My premium for my P11 is around 1500 every 6 months. Last time I checked, an S14 is considered a 'sports' car.

I agree..the S14 looks nice when you fix it up right...especially when you slap on the S15 front end and the SR20DET...cant go wrong. I've seen a lot of nice bodykits for that car too..C-West, Bomex, Impul..list goes on and on. Or forget trying to choose and get both! :D
