Hello,
I have a 93 Elantra with a 1.8l engine, I bought it brand new 25K ago. The body of the car is just getting old and I would like to buy an newer Elantra or simular and use the existing engine in the new car, my question is which year models will it fit? would it fit into an 99/00 + Elantra? Let me know please...oh yes and it's manual.
Thank you
Dan

No, it won't fit in the new Elantras, but it will fit in a '92 for sure, and probably will fit in any '90-'93: Elantra, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, or Plymouth Laser. I swapped my '92's 1.6L for my '93's 1.8L, and I'm getting ready to swap yet again for an Eagle Talon's 2.0L (a turbo is soon to follow, I hope).

:banghead: I am also having this kind of problem..I wanted to upgrade my engine..I have a 91 Elantra..Some dudes said I have a DOHC 16 Valve Engine..( I thought before that I have a 4g15 Engine from mitsu)

What could be the better engine that best fits in my car? Of course with only minor parts being replaced...(could i still use my old tyranny, ECU and others..?)

How much would it cost?:nono:
