i was askin about that about 2 months ago and to tell you the truth, what you've posted is the first pic i've ever seen of it. i don't think anyone in this forum has that done. it looks nice tho. i wonder how difficult it was to put on.

if you read his post it tells you. The r32 front with the grill will look even more badass

yeah, i just finished up reading it. if all you have to do is re-drill the fender mounts, then i'm surprised you don't see more of that swap. it looks great.

i'd like to see better pics of how the doors and fenders line up. sourcing those parts for the swap is probably a bitch too (if you don't get a clip, i don't want an rb20). i guess you'd just have to keep you eyes open and check ebay alot.

I did the swap for a buddy of mine, it looks ok. There is a good sized gap between the fender & the door, fenders stick out like 3/4 to 1 inch. Not sure how to go about fixing that. It isnt as easy a swap as Night makes it out to be. He says 1 hour. Took me about 9 hours. I am a little conscious of making everything fit perfect though. Maybe that was my downfall. You NEED hood pins for it and lots of shims. The R32 hood hinges bolt right up to the stock 24- location, but you need to shim the fenders to make the lines look ok from fender to door and fender to windshield pillar. Then you gotta throw a couple on the hood to bring the hood up & level.
Here's the pics off a local forum, I gotta do some adjustment still. After 9 hours, I stopped caring.

yeah I've only seen that red one besides this one.
It doesn't look good at all. It doesn't look as good as a real Sil Eighty. It just doesn't line up at all with the rest of the car, looks odd where it meets with the body lines of the 240 around the A pillar and doors....

i just got an email back from him. he says he ships out the whole conversion pre-drilled for ease of instalation. the only thing he says is needed is hood pins if you don't want to relocate your hood lock. i'm not sure if this pre-drilling means you don't need shims. the front end cost $1000. personally i'd just get an r32 front clip wityh an rb20 and drill it myself. i've seen them for as low as $1500.

Will an R33 front end fit on? gtr or gts?
I think if the R33 fits and lines up alright then it would look much better. The pic of that red/black one was an S14...has anyone seen good pics of a sky-eighty? not a sky-forty...or a skyvia...

the red and black one in this link from jon powell? that def an s13 hatchback. the r33 may look alittle better, i'd like to see that. my question would be how this r32 front looks on an s13 coupe. also (don't be too harsh, its just a question) how do you guys think an s14 kouki front would look on an s13 coupe? both the front of the kouki and the rear of the s13 coupe are very angled, i think it would flow real nice. an s13.5...

that's the problem, the reason alot of these threads are so large, is because either people just keep starting new ones, instead of keeping with the old ones. and in the case of the 240SXs there should be breaks and not just one big forum, like it needs to be split into a S12, S13, S14, S15, RPS13 (180SX) forums IMO. that way people with specific questions can ask them without having to search through 30+ pages to find what they need, and under those main catigories, you then probably could use sub catagories such as visual mod, performance mod, swap info, then have MISC, for all the things which don't fit into these catagoires... I know I just went way off topic, but I've been in a few diffrent forums and they are just so large it's hard to get information on them. sorry.

yeah i see what your saying, we have had a few debates about this in the past couple months, but nothing ever happened. Plus if you make a whole new one, you'll get more replies, most people wont come in and start posting on the second page of a year old thread unless they are going to flame you...

ya well to make change you have to set a trend, look at every group who has ever made an impact on anything, most people at the time hated and disapproved them and their idea, but what happened in the end? it paid off. Every great thing starts off small.

it worked, thank you. I noticed that it's the M-type (I maybe wrong with the model name) but it's the FR skyline if I do recall correctly. It's a possibility, but was perfering to find the GTR 32 front end, to convert. is the R32 wider than the FR Skyline 32? basically for me I'm trying to shake the boat a good bit, actually the 2 front ends I would like the most on my S13 240SX is either the R32 (GTR model) or tempted to pay more and get a FC Rx-7 front end installed. I love cat-eyes (pop-up headlights) but I don't partiualry like the 180SX front end on the S13 Silvia. which is what is currently on the car. if I find that the other 2 are impractical the M-type would suffice, just trying to be diffrent that's all.

im telling you right now, that the r32 front end is hard as fuck to make look right. I bought a whole front end, lights, fenders, hood, and it looked like shit when i put it on. you definitely will spend alot of time making it look right. i tried for a week inbetween soccer 2 a days, to try to make it look right. i had to drill new holes in the top of the fenders to get it to bolt right, i had to keep bending the fenders little by little to make it fit the 240's shape, the lights fit like shiznit. and the hood hinges didnt fit whatsoever, so i had to take the stock ones and drill them out farther. in the end i ended up selling it and losing a lot of money. i wouldnt recommend it :(

why do u want skyline front end on a 240?
sorry to say that but its ricy. don't get me wrong, pop up lights are not the best, i wanted a head light assembly for my car, i like the skyline front end, but if i will not put a skyline front end on my car, its like slaping on the GT-R sticker on your car, not right man!

I agree it looks like shit.
I had to use a TON of shims, drill a thousnad holes....and still it didnt fit
The body lines dont match, the fenders stick out ALOT where thy meet the doors.
The Skyline is a wider car and the fenders reflect that. They bow out further from the aprons than the 240 fenders.
I got it to look better than it does on that car...with another 4 hours work, BUT it is still something I would be embarrassed to drive myself.

I don't like the pop-ups. Just one more thing to break. On mine, one goes down before the other. Sometimes one will stay up for about 15 seconds. I just won't spend money on getting rid of them.
