Headlamp Problems

Hi I have a 96 Jetta trek that has been blowing headlamps very frequently for about 6 months. I have tried different makes of the replacement lamps but it did not help. It happens on both driver and passenger sides and I can't seem to figure out whats wrong. Anyone with similar experience? How did you fix the problem? Thanks in advance
