WOW... this place claims that they can put a stock 2jz-gte into your 240sx for around $11,000. thats about the same as what Unstable charges for the rb26dett. they also include upgrade packages to increase the hp. i don't have the money to do this but i would just for origionalities sake. click where it says 2JZ conversion...http://members.shaw.ca/kfgroup/index.htm

Honestly, i wanna tune a CA18DET. so i'd never buy this (i'd use it for an Evo down payment, i drove it again today :boink: ). i just wanted to post somethin to cause a discussion and to just show everyone what i stumbled upon. besides, read the results they've gotten. they had rb's in the car before the 2jz. someone has to back me on this. mynismo, what do you think? i mean, it doesn't have GM reliabilty or anything, but its pretty bad ass.

please stop posting and making threads about engine swaps.
it is completely unneccesary in these forums, there's a sticky on both sr20's and rb's.
no need for any more of these stupid posts where we start aguing and shit. grncivic you should know better :nono:

How is this unnecessary? it relates completely to 240's. this IS NOT in those sticky threads. how is this stupid? dude, i'm sure there are people that would like to see a few alternatives besides rb's and sr's. besides, hows this gonna cause an argument?

well...there's
get that toyota shit outta here...i cant stand them
and then somebody will come back and say, "toyota rocks, you idiot blahblahblah."
people here seem to be at once extremely opinionated and stubborn about changing those opinions. and when you have people like that butting heads, well, as we've seen time and time again, it gets ugly. especially when the parties involved probably aren't the most mature (not pointing out anyone in particular, but some people here definitely act their age) debaters : )

this thread is just loaded with too many engine swap threads, its getting boring
i'd say stop contributing to the mess in the 240 forums.... and you guys wonder why we are not as respected compared to other forums. it's because every engine swap thread starts out with someone who thinks "this swap is cool" and that "this swap is better than that swap". it's too opinionated in here. enecks knows what i mean.
threads in here really shouldn't start as opinionated threads, or at least not as many as there are now. all that happens is someone that says this swap is better than that swap. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz makes me want to go to sleep.
start bringing up factual information about a 240sx, and these forums would be a lot better. that's what these threads are made for anyway....
"i don't have the money to do this but i would just for origionalities sake" - this is what makes your post too opinionated. you know all that will come after you post it are all these nissan lovers that will say an rb26 swap is better, myself included.
and the fact that a post like this (relating to the 2jz) pops up every couple weeks.

thats funny, i haven't seen a thread with a link to a shop that does the swap ever pop up. this has a set price, all i've ever seen is people ask if it can be done, or how much it will be. i just answered those questions. and since when can i not state an opinion? besides, what right do you have to call my post stupid? who the hell are you?
And one more thing. if me posting a link to a site that does a 2jz swap would make "true" nissan lovers angry, well thats pathetic. the thread is informative reguardless of my opinion because the link. who cares if you wouldn't do it? what makes in informative? I contributed information.

jesus christ man. he was posting a link about a unique swap that i've personally never seen done before, simply for the simple task of creating discussion. NO NEED to jump down his throat and start blaming him for making our forums a mess! if you don't like the thread, ignore it. i know it's hard when there's so many of them, but it's a unique swap. there's no 2JZ FAQ at the top of the page, and no sites about it in the FAQ, so i see no reason why he shouldn't have posted this.
now let's stop arguing and get back on topic, DISCUSSING THE SWAP, NOT arguing, or else this thread will be locked. thank you.
PS i am going to add the link to the FAQ for those who are curious about this swap.

please don't
it's not related to nissan.... its a toyota engine.
if you do that you'll also have to make a post for a h22 swaps, v8 swaps, etc.

nobody has ever asked about putting an H22 into a 240 because it's not possible. i personally think a 2JZ swap would be awesome if someone had the money to do it, and there's interest, so therefore i posted it.

i agree. a 2jz in a 240 has got to be badass, yes i would go rb26dett first but still its a damn supra motor... seriously.

show me an h22 or v8 engine that can handle 650+hp with a stock bottom end and then maybe it will be noteworthy...no offense, but not many people who are into imports like v8s and most people who like nissans dont like hondas...so both of those swaps will not get much popularity...
to me...toyota and nissan are on nearly the same level for styling, performance, reliability and originality...so a toyota swap (to me) is acceptable...but since the rb25 and 26 are available it wouldn't make sense to do it...

One more thing is if you bought the usdm tt supra engine then it would be emissions legal and legal to have in your car (assuming both are of the same build year or the engine is newer than the car). You also wouldn't have to pay import fees and could maybe get the engine from a totaled supra off ebay or at a local junk yard.
Kinda cool...not sure how hard it would be to do yourself, but I would imagine a little harder than an rb25/26.
I was at that site awhile ago...the price they are asking is a little steep imo though, but again...I'm not positive of what they do to make it fit.

Any idea of the weight difference between the 2Jz and the RB26? Oh and are you gonna add this to your site klohiq? :D

i was wondering about the weight of the 2jz compared to the b26dett as well.

Yeah I was at work and thinking I should probably add this to my site since it's definitely a cool swap...
No idea the weight difference, but they are both iron blocks and both are inline 6...though one is 3 liters and the other is .4 liters less...so who knows...I'll try to find some info on it and then add it to my site along with post anything I find here.
Also...I thought of several more benefits...
.4 liters more than rb26
6 speed tranny (rb26 has a 6 also...but it would be a bitch to use since its made for awd...so everyone so far has used a 5 speed rb25 trans.)
easier to keep the tt setup than rb26
I bet there are many more reasons to do it too..hmmm maybe my s14 will get this swap rather than an rb25...
