I have a 2002 Cavalier and want to get at my radio so I can attach an FM Modulator to the back from my XM radio. I can't figure out how or where to find a diagram that walks a dope like me through the process.

If you can't find the info online, you can go to your local dealership and get a copy or printout of the service procedures for your dashboard. That should be all the info you need.

You have to pop off the side caps on either side of the dash then find all the little screws that hold the upper dash on. That entire piece (upper dash) that runs all the way across and up to the windshield needs to come out. After that you need to unscrew the frame that goes around the radio and speedometer. Then your in!!! There are a couple of bolts that hold the dash on up inside the glove compartment right under the passenger side air bag. There are 2 there and 2 that are at the top lip of the glove box. One screw holds the vent plate on top of the upper dash and under that there are 2 screws. There are 2 scresws on the left side of the dash and one on the right. I believe 3 screws hold the frame in that goes around the radio and speedometer, them there are a few popper that you need to just pull on and it comes out. Disconnect your cigarette lighter and dome light connection. Any more help, email me a [email protected]
