tire sizes???

I wanted to know if i can fit a 31in tire on my stock rim, it's a 2001 ls blazer with the 5 spoke stock rim, i will eventually get bigger rims but just got the car and want bigger tires, how big should i go? what tires are best? and most important, i do not want to put a lift kit on it so don't tell me to put 36's on it. Thanks for the input.

I believe the ZR2 package came with 30". Those will fit with no problem.

ZR2's come with 31" tires, but that's with a 3in body lift. So I'm not sure about a not ZR2 bodystyle blazer.
