Power vs Looks

What would you rather do with your car?
Make it look better? (I tried to include some examples.) Spoilers/Wings, Hoods, Ground Effects, Lowering suspension, wheels & tires, Interior Mods.
Or...
Increase performance (Higher hp, torque, gas mileage, higher air intake and exhaust, anything under the hood, that deals with the engine).
Basically, what would you sink your (or someone elses) money into?
Eye Candy or Raw Power?

I've done a little of each, but any big bucks that I spend is going towards power/performance....

Definitely Performance! My car is already a head turner and currently it is still all stock. I've gotten countless compliments since I've owned her. I don't see anything wrong with sinking SOME $$$ into looks, but I'd say mainly keep the cash flow for the Performance upgrades. :sunglasse

Performance, if it is from 64-72 and has a wing it better be a Superbird ;) My car gets a lot of attention stock as it sites because it is different then almost everything else out there, I don't need to add exterior items. Power, thats where true fun is anyway.

Im with BlkCamaroSS, I have spent money on both power and looks. I dont want it to look like crap I mean its a TA its gotta have good looks. But I will put more money into power and handeling than looks any day.

ive invested alot into both and granted you get the ladies with the apperience...but ide rather it go into performance...if your talking about just f-body's i would deffinatly go with performance because they are already cool...or you can go with performance that looks cool...like lowering springs or an exaust that sounds cool but also gives HP...just my 2 cents... :2cents:

if you have a car that looks really good stock, like a superbird, then you dont need exterior mods.
performance mods are the way to go, would you rather look fast or be fast?
and sleepers rule anyway...

I think most people start off buying a leasure car (not a daily commuter car) because they like the way it looks already. Any improvements made to exterior are usually lite in nature but I can't think of anyone with the performance bug that say's oh my car has enough power I'm done, There is always a way to make it faster.

My simple opinion...If I die, it better be in my car... So...Performance all the way!

Looks are in the eye of the beholder. Power is the same to everyone, more is better.
People will respect a nice looking slow car but a fast car commands respect regardless of whether it's ugly or pretty.
I'm addicted to speed so gonna have to say performance.

Well, I like my ride to look nice and be fast but I also use it to go to work and other daily tasks. Some of these souped up ground pounders would be kind of expensive to drive on a daily basis.

Looks are nice, but I prefer performance. I'd feel pretty stupid driving around in a car that looks fast, but isn't.

I'm going to be dumpin my money into power. I want my 86 T/A to look stock and keep a sleeper look, cept for rims (gots to have a nice set of wheels)...

I saw some serious proof that power is more important to most people than looks. It was and 80's Chevrolet Celebrity wagon, nasty brown, stock body all the way through. Art Badgely had something to do with this wagon. It had a small-block Chevy with an enormous cam, and drag slicks! That wagon shook the ground at idle, and I swear I could still hear it when it was shut down. Even the interior benches were all stock and still intact. Nothing was stripped or replaced, nor the car washed for that matter. I can't even imagine all that power hooking up on that car, thats GOOD traction Menard!
