Hey, my first post here...i just installed a cold air intake from ebay and i like it...Unfortunately i wasnt able to get the filter fitting down by the bumper right so i just installed it the short ram way...Anyway, thats another thread! What i am wondering now is if upgrading my filter to a K&N one would be worth it...Right now its just a K&N style one. Anyhow, any thoughts would be appreciated!

I don't think the filter will make a huge difference, I'd keep the one you have. And its K&N .
As for the lower pipe, you can route the pipe through the passenger side fender, just take the wheel off and pull the fenderwell trim back enough to fit the pipe and filter through, shoudn't be too hard.
And don't worry about sucking up water. Just don't drive the car into a lake or huge puddle and you should be fine.
Oh, and welcome to AF.

be careful Ricochet... nuts like me will put in Royal Purple for that added 1 hp... who's to say there aren't people out there that would throw away a perfectly good filter to do the same? :naughty:

So you can't get the filter onto the pipe down behind the bumper, is that what you're saying? What's in the way?

Well, i was planning on posting tomorrow with a picture, but basically...i take off the wheel and peel back the fender splash guard and put the filter up through there...then i get the second pipe connected down there to it, but that pipe wont match up to the first one, because the filter wont sit right....i was working with a light at that point because it was dark already and i wanted to get home for the Sharks game, so i just quit..i am sure i can get it fitting, but any suggestions would be nice...thanks!

Might have the filter on the wrong end of the pipe, try switching ends and see if that works

Here is another questions....the kit only came with 4 clamps to keep the pieces together, but i feel like i am missing one....One for the intake side, then the actual pipe, 2 for the 2nd pipe on either side and then one for the filter onto the pipe...hmmm...thats 5...any suggestions?

I had the short ram left over from my old hatch, so I took a clamp off that. I'd say hit the hardware store and get one for cheap.

Thats what you get for buying low quality. You can buy a hose clamp at any part/hardware store. I would suggest upgrading to a K&N filter since that matters more than the actual intake tubing/brand. Cheap ass filter CAN NOT be cleaned/re-used like K&N.
Take off the front bumper if your having trouble - removing the bumper will make your life much easier. IMO i can remove a civic front bumper faster than removing the wheel/tire & slash guard. Plus you'll have much more room to work.
Make sure the slash guard is installed properly with all clips or its a matter of time before the guard gets ripped off & then you must buy another with new clips = WASTE of money.

should be pretty easy to find them... places like jegs and summit sell them.
to get the right one you need to know the size pipe it has to fit on and also figure out how much room you have to work with where the filter will go...
