Panasport Wheels?

Hello all.

I've finally decided to go ahead with my 480Z project! And I'll tell you this, it's going to be wild.

It's a Datsun 240Z, but with a V12 built by cutting the blocks from their transmissions, reversing one's cylinder head, then cutting them at 90 degrees at the crankshaft, joining them, and then cannabalising an old Revell Lamborghini Countach for an oil pan and water pump, while scratchbashing an appropriate intake manifold and reversing a BRE header.

Anyways, my plan is to make it as factory appearing as possible, and one of the things about that is that I want to use Panasport wheels (very common on Z's). I have no idea where to get them, though. Does anyone have any idea? This is a USDM style car, so Watanabes aren't an option.

Watanabe are very close to what you need and are not hard to track down. Maybe get some Watanabe's and sand down a center edge like Panasports?

Suppose I could do that. Though Panasports are closer to Minilites than Watanabes in appearance.

But I really don't want to get into modifying wheels too terribly much. There's enough work involved with the engine for me to go poking around that much with the wheels.

Perry's Resin has some resin minilites that you might be able to modify?

www.perrysresin.com

Go to the catalog and check the wheels and tires, they're in there. I'd try to link direct, but I don't think it'd work.

Not Panasport, but might be something to work with?

Give a look here for Minilites as well!: Scale Dreams (http://www.scaledreams.com/R&MOFMD.HTM). Look at product # RM R10

Here's a pic of some RS Watanabes:

Guess it's a difference that makes no difference. :iceslolan

But I do have a source for resin Minilites. Mini Exotics (http://www.rndunique.com/rnd_products.cfm?pi=2)

I really wanted Panasports, though.

Although those Perry's Resin Minilites and Trans-Am tires are not bad at all. :sunglasse
