I have a exhaust leak in the front of my exhaust system on my 96 camry 5s-fe engine. I have the chilton repair manual and in it, it shows the part that i have a hole in. But it does not give any info on it, ie. name part number anything and i am having a hard time locating the part. It is a metal meshed tube directly in front of the front exhaust pipe(chilton label). I believe it is a convertor of some kind? can anyone tell me the name of this part and possible where i can optain one? Thanks a bunch

You have to have the flex pipe replaced......I had an 86' Camry that I had into the dealer 6 times and Jiffy Muffler another 5.(to have this issue resolved and never was)
On my new Camry I just replaced the pipe and had no issue.
It is a part that allows for the movement of the engine separate from the chassis and rest of the exhuast.
It is actually part of the lead pipe.....not a separate section.
Good luck.
