"86 Civic Overheats and leaks water, Need help ASAP

I have an '86 Civic that overheats after running for less than a minute. I have no idea what is going on. We replaced the radiator and it still does the same thing and leaks water still. We cant find the thermostat and we were trying to find it because someone we know said to take out the thermostat and it will not allow it to overheat. We are so stumped on what else to check and/or replace. We think it might be the water pump since we are not sure there is pressure where we pour in the anti-freeze. When we pour water in it starts to boil up and sprays back out. We are not sure if there is a tube that is broken or what. The water is leaking out from under the right side of the front end if you are looking at the front of the car. It is back where one of the belts lead but too hard to see what is back there and what is wrong. Will someone please tell us what to do and if you have any pictures, that would help as well. It is so hard to figure out what the inside of the car looks like if someone is just describing it to us. Need car to run soon, help would be greatly appreciated.

the right side (driver side i think is what you are refering to) is where the water pump is, which is driven by a belt. i could be that thats what your problem is, about 50 bones or so to replace plus labor. i had a similar symptoms with my car overheating in less than a minute and the problem i had was a leaking head gasket, but unless your car runs on 3 cilinders when you first start it up that wont be the case. the thermostat is located (im pretty sure, i have an '83 so someone correct me if im wrong) on the left side of the head (top of the engine) where the big hose from the top of the radiator comes in. if you look at the part the hose attaches to you will notice that it is a seperate part that can be unbolted, the thermostat is inside that, they are extremly cheep so if you are gunna go through the troubble of takeing it apart you mite as well preplace it.

if it turns out not to be the thermostat (which it almost certanly is)
remove the heater hose,,, the hose that comes from the back of the engine and into the fire wall then back again. loop the engine side back on itself.. this by passes the heater.. if you are leaking water and cant find where this is most probly it,, which is a common prob.
also chech the oil cap on the inside to see if there is any frothy white stuff. this will hint to as water in oil,
