Which wire is positive/negative?

I have a 2000 hatchback and need to know which wire is positive and negative for the front speakers in the door. I either hooked up my Pioneers out of phase or they're shitty speakers.

the wires that connect directly to the speaker itself? Aren't the clamps on the ends different sizes and correspond to its size on the speaker? If it doesn't work, can't you just switch the polarity and walla?!

no clamps, there's a snap-on plastic thing which clips both wires to the speaker. I cut the wires to that and put clamps on each one. Each door has different colors from eachother and I don't feel like hassling with trial and error.. thought I'd ask here first.

one thing you can do is turn up the speakers and if it looks like the cone is moving inward and not being pushed out, it is out of phase

yes if the speaker is moving inward and producing no bass it's out of phase. The easiest way is to speaker pop em behind the head unit or yes try them one way and switch if needed.

My database indicates:
LF+ = blue
LF- = gray/black
RF+ = red/green
RF- = brown/black
LR+ = blue/yellow
LR- = gray/white
RR+ = red/yellow
RR- = brown white

You can always hook it up and switch one side to listen for an increase/decrease in bass response.

That's exactly what I needed. I'll hook it up correctly and also check cone movement. Thanks a lot guys.
