1996 Blazer Clutch Slippage

I was wondering if anyone has heard of a problem that would cause this, other than the clutch going out of course.

When starting out, or accelerating, my blazer revs up real high before it starts to accelerate. However it seems to function better when it's in 4WD.

Any suggestions?
